Police say home rental ad on Craigslist is fake SCOTIA — Police are warning residents not to respond to a fraudulent Craigslist advertisement seeking someone to rent a three bedroom house on Irving Road. Officer Martin Bailey said someone posted a listing saying that a house at 23 Irving Road is for rent for $850 a month because the family is relocating to London. However, the person who posted the ad is not the owner. The person living in the house contacted police after several people came up to her to see the house. Bailey said Scotia police are working with state police to track down who placed the ad. That person could face potential fraud and larceny charges.
