It will be very interesting to see who, if anyone, will get a tax decrease. The word here is 'who'!

Just be prepared for the double digit tax increase from the county next year. Remember that this year we got a pass cause they used the 'stimulus' money to offset the tax increase. Couple that with the state's decrease....we'll get hammered!!!

So perhaps... you folks may want to start attending county leg meetings as well as town meetings and tell them all to CUT SPENDING....or we'll vote their a$$es out! While we're at it, how about the school board meetings too? It's time to get busy people!!!! Sharpen your pencils, fire up your email and speak up at meetings!

Absolutely! I think I will start going to County meetings...I just can't make it on Wednesdays to town meetings.  But I mentioned school board meetings in the other thread, and not ONE person wrote on it...no one seems to care...this community needs to take a stand.  Tell your administrators, school board members, and teachers that all this spending needs to stop!

I realize that not everyone is comfortable getting up to speak at meetings. Some also don't feel they can write an editorial that will get their message across articulately.

Here's a suggestion.........example.....since everyone is screaming about 'tax and spend', someone could write a generic letter with these concerns, copy as many as needed, give them to the people who have the same concerns....these people take one, sign it, put them in an envelope, put a stamp on it and mail it. Be it to your town, county or state reps. Can you imagine them receiving hundreds of letters like this during an election year!!

Also share your concerns with someone who can put it down on paper for you to read at a meeting. Or write it yourself. It takes some of the pressure off, when you are 'up there'. You can do the same for an editorial.

Perhaps someone could pen some generic letters here that we could use and mail!
