It was pointed out to me that Mr. Amedore's Facebook page lists him as a fan of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. This organization states that is purpose is for ensuring protection of female health rights. Sounds good. But, one of their statements is: "the availability of safe, legal abortion remains of vital importance to the health of women."

Isn't this the man that campaigned on the platform that he was a deeply religious conservative? I think Mr. Amedore owes some answers.

The 'health' of women has more to do with the 'Edwards' and 'tigers' of this world.....however, ladies shut it and there will be no fear.....

again--legal clean syringes or legal clean abortions.......CHOICE.....always.....if you want to give me a clean syringe go ahead if you dont then you dont.....it's still
MY CHOICE......

Bumble--you pose an interesting question about doctors practicing where abortions occur.  There are several docs in Albany who will NOT practice at AMC or Memorial because abortions are performed there.  In these cases ALL are Roman Catholics.  I agree with you.  I do not believe in abortion either but it is settled law in this country...at least for now.

I believe that Amedore supported DiLeva--even had his photo with hers on some campaign material that I saw.  Although I don't believe he will switch his registration, I do think he should explain his views one more time.  His support of the Dems should be more of a concern than his view of abortion.

What is the definition of conservative?

My definition is that you will conserve yourself and your choices to yourself. IE: abortion/syringes/drink/smoke etc......and the government will stay out of my pocket and business and let those who
CHOOSE to use syringes/drink/smoke/abort choose their devil.......maybe the government should stop doling out that 'fruit' from their own tree and do a better job at edumacation and the churches
should go back to doing what they do best-----education about personal responsibility/choice/discernment......

when the two entities combine we have a frankenstein of sorts......the government as it is has been voted on/in over and over and over......our elected legislators are not elected out of a vacuum.....
our government is a reflection of US.....but should not be our conscience just an affect of it.......can anyone see the wind?--no, just the effects of it.........

right now both parties are windbags.....they affect US.....it should be the other way around........

I wonder what our 'wind', we the people consists of?????

You may want to check this information out for  us to see if it is accurate. Perhaps you can find out for us exactly when the picture that appeared in her campaign flier was actually taken. Perhaps it was taken prior to the campaign since both families are long time friends. Perhaps you can find out for us if GA was informed before hand that this picture was going to be used for campaign literature. I'm not quite sure that your assessment is accurate. Could you find our for us?

I don't know if I could find that out but will ask around.  If that photo ws taken for someother reason and sent outw/o his acknowledgement that would be pretty misleading...actually pretty underhanded.  Maybe if DM is on this board, and I don't know that she is, maybe she could shed some light on that fact.  I apologize if my assessment is erroneous.

And, greenlantern, your days in politics are over.  You can vent all that you wish.  The public has your number. BTW, forget the judgeship.  You will never be awarded the endorsement and will lose big in a general election.

He doesn't even know the difference between a County Leg and Town Board race? Now he wants a judgeship? It's worse than we first thought.

Newsflash: Neither of the town justices are leaving. Rotsa ruck for Surrogate Judge on one line. Don't count on the NNTP endorsement-lol-

No problem and understandable. But this is how 'rumors' and 'untruths' spread around this county. Just because we hear something, doesn't mean it's the whole truth or that there isn't another side to the story. Because there usually is! And obviously, just because we see something isn't always as it seems either.

Yes Bumble you are right.  I should have thought that out before I made that comment.  Apologies to the forum.  I just knew I had seen a photo of the two of them together.  I don't know what the circumstances were for that photo.  Again apologies to the board.

alleykat, if GA was against the use of his image in the campaign ad why didn't he go on the record blasting its use? Why didn't he file a complaint with the LWV? Sounds to me like GA was working against Republicans.

My issue with abortion isn't that he's in favor of it, my issue is that he is trying to play both sides and won't tell us where he stands. Seems to me the first requirement of being a conservative, one that all types of conservatives can agree on, is honesty.

Greeny ~ you crack me up!  First ~ you bash the NNTP as individuals who want to sink the GOP and work against the party ~ then you post this?  You my friend ~ are as self-serving as any politician to step foot in our dear community.

Here's the thing ~ nobody owes you an answer ~ you're old news.  Stick around as long as you can ~ though ~ and bring them all down if you can ~ you must be very bitter.

Instead of worrying about "outting" people on the blog, why don't we just discuss facts.  You have no proof he is anyone! And you're probably wrong. For how long did people think bumblethru was Mertz?  He clearly isn't! No one is accusing you of being anyone!

Ok ~ TBV ~ Greeny is no better than the NNTP guys he bashes for running against the GOP candidates.

You have to ask yourself ~ what does Greeny have to gain by bashing GM?

Oh ~ I know ~ please pick me ~ I know the answer ~ BECAUSE Greeny looked the other way when an elected Rep jumped ship and is hoping to be part of Angelo's campaign against GM.

Problem is ~ Angelo has traded up for a campaign team that knows how to win.  Angelos problem is though, he's too stupid to know how badly he'll be embarassed by GM when the election results come in.

So as for the facts ~ Greeny bashes Republicans because Greeny has only loyalty to himself.  FACT ~ and ~ you can TrustandVerify that!

Sure...but who is Greeny?! I have loyalty to myself too...I am not anyone people have accused me of being.  Is it SO hard to believe that people other than "Tom and Jerry" feel this way?!?!?!

TBV ~ one thing is for sure you are inexperienced.  It's simple ~ Ronald Reagan set a standard for the Republican Party when it comes to dealing with other Reps ~ yet ~ it doesn't apply to our local GOP?

Here's the question for you TBV ~ you are new enough in this to pick a horse ~ are you smart enough to pick the winner this time?

Now ~ there's just enough of you Tom & Jerry fans to fill to sedans ~ wonder when you'll see the writing on the wall.

Felipe, I call them as I see them. I consider myself a conservative. One of the hallmarks of a conservative, in my mind, is honesty.. I don't really care where Amedore stands on abortion--my point is I want to know Amedore seems to be saying 2 different things at the same time. I'm not comparable to the NNTP: I haven't primaried Amedore, haven't created a fake party to run against Amedore, and I haven't thrown my friends to the wolves. I certainly have no intentions of becoming a democrat for Angelo. Is it really that absurd a request to expect my assemblyman to have a clear message? If he's unclear on something like this, which other issues does Amedore allow the political wind to direct his view?
