It's one of those things...you just had to be there!   FDG was being directed by the new town attorney as to what to say and do, DiLeva directed Martin a couple times to second the motion, FDG couldn't hear a question asked about REMS so Godlewski took over but then had to ask GP for the facts.  I predict they will be asking Gerard often...so why didn't they just keep him as Town Attorney?   When the new Town Attorney was asked a question about REMS, he stated that he wasn't up to speed yet.  Again, too much to put in print...watch it on Channel 16 and if the total meeting isn't broadcasted, let's tell the Board that they need to fix that too!

And this was just the tip of the iceberg I hear. I would be SHOCKED if the board allows it to be replayed on the democratically owned, liberal channel 16. Stay tuned for more!!

...Thanks for the details--slim that they were but details just the same for those of us who are housebound.  Buona Sera!

The Jan 13th Town Board meeting was broadcasted yesterday on Channel 16 and will replay this Saturday at 1pm.
DON'T MISS IT!

Question to the new Board:  The Town calendar (on-line) doesn't have a second TB meeting scheduled for
January.  What's with that?

Oh please, I don't think I could watch a re-run of that circus act. Watching it in person was MORE than enough for me!! I left just shaking my head

I also noticed that there shows 'nothing' on the on-line town calendar. Perhaps they don't want people to come and watch the circus! Perhaps they could charge admission and put it toward the new 'confidential secretaries' salary!

The Spotlight came in the mail today and it had an article about the 1/13 TB meeting.  In the article, it was stated that the next meeting will be in February.  Seems the new Board is making their own rules on the frequency of meetings also.

Checking the town calendar, here's the current list of just the town board meetings themselves (no committees).  All are Wednesday's at 7 PM

Feb 10
Feb 24
Mar 10
Mar 24
Apr 14
Apr 28
May 12 (at Rotterdam Junction Fire Department, only meeting scheduled for May)
Jun 9 (only one scheduled for June)
Jul 14 (only one scheduled for July)
Aug 11 (only one scheduled for August)
Sep 8
Sep 22
Oct 13
Oct 27
Nov 10 (only meeting scheduled for November)
December 8 (only meeting during December)

That makes 16 meetings to go through the rest of the year, 18 total for the year.  It seems to me years in the past, there was always 2 meetings a month (possibly 3 in January, considering the organizational meeting on 1/1) with the exception of July and August being knocked down to 1 for a total of 22 or 23 (depending on the extra meeting in January).

Well, I guess if they're not coming to work as much as the former board, we should at least not expect them to ask for raises, especially after the antics pulled in the 1/13 meeting (referring to giving positions away to people who don't live in town and giving raises, then stating later that everybody needed to cut their budget).

Maybe having  fewer meetings is Bob G's way of cutting costs. They will save a few bucks on the electric bill...

I am amused at how detailed one will become to be able to slam the other party.  A reduction in meetings, (and I do not know if that is correct) are inconsequential.  I do not remember there ever being three meetings in January unless the calendar fell that way.  I am sure if they find the need for an extra meeting, they will have it.

MT--your constant need to slam FDG because of his age is a little obnoxious.  I might like to remind you that you are not getting any younger either.  Oh yes the other administration loved to consider their self-importance by scheduling a meeting to plan a meeting--all a sham to make themselves look busy and indispensible.  Truth was they were lousy leaders, accomplished NOTHING and that is why they are out.

Bumble, I too, heard there was a meeting this week and it is on my calendar to attend.  We need clarification on this.

Just repeating what Mr Frank said ... he didn't like being up/out that late. Obnoxious? Yes, yes it is.

He probably doesn't like being out late--HE GOES TO WORK 1/2 hour BEFORE GOD GETS UP.  Also I will remind you of a statement from Vic Reilley and Harry Gridley of Key Bank fame.  They believed if you couldn't get your meetings done in an hour, you were totally disorganized and in love with your own ability to pontificate.

That being said, the Town's business can sure get wrapped up in a resonable time and may not call for as many meetings as originally scheduled.  ST's gang loved long involved meetings it was all part of their inability to lead and part of their own self-aggrandizement.

Looks like the rotterdam town board will be governing from the pulpit of the gazette via justin mason. Right out of the dems playbook. Ta hell with 'we the people' who have tons of concerns and issues we would like to address directly to our new supervisor. So much for transparency, huh? (I believe this is called DAMAGE CONTROL)

People have told me that it appears rather 'secretive' and a bit 'underhanded' (slick if you will) for our elected officials to deliberately avoid contact with it's residents. These sentiments came from mainly dems and independents who voted them into office.

I would strongly suggest that everyone email or mail or call the supervisor's office and suggest they continue with 2 meetings a month. In fact, we need to ALL ask for an appointment to meet with our new supervisor to discuss these matters. Dontcha think? OH...can fdg email? Perhaps from his Blackberry?

If they are so concerned with the cost of 'electricity', as someone else mentioned here (which sounded absurd at best ....just get rid of MDV's web service and obtain a new and cheaper one. That should allow for an additional few hundred grand to be spent. That should fill the bill, huh?
