Chuck Schumer lays egg with anti-terrorist plan

Re Jan. 4 article, “Schumer airs plan for airport security”: With Sen. Ted Kennedy gone, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer does his boring best to be the Senate’s leading loudmouth and liberal spendthrift.
Recently, he addressed terrorism with a trite “wake-up call.” His moronic solution for stopping terrorists from entering the United States is to not fly to airports with lax security.
Schumer’s political pixie dust assumes airplanes are the only way to enter the United States; forgets that airline security is the responsibility of the federal TSA, not the airlines; would inconvenience travelers but not terrorists; would threaten the employment, income and tax revenue of airlines and airline personnel, but would require no sacrifi ce, responsibility, thought or effort by fat-cat politicians with fat incomes, fat benefi ts and fat heads.
Schumer could further improve security and thwart terrorists by closing shoe and underwear factories, by firing social secretaries and closing military bases where terrorists are stationed.
A benefit of Schumer’s flight cuts would be to make planes available to fly terrorists to New York city for trial in civilian courts by incompetent federal prosecutors.
[Homeland Security Secretary Janet] Napolitano can stroke it, but the Obama security system does not work!
Schumer should continue working in a closet on a secret health plan that is unfathomable, unaffordable, unworkable, unpopular, budget-bloating and a job-killing gift to party prostitutes and labor unions. At that he excels.

Good thing Schumer finally saw this as a wake-up call.  I mean really, there hadn't been anything like this in history before right???  Welll....as long as you don't count 9/11... but THIS is the day that brings the fact that we need to be more careful with our airline security...
