If I were in law enforcement in let's say,,,Alabama, and I was investigating a crime where a burning cross was in the front yard of a black family, and I wanted to find the person or group responsible so I could prevent it from happening again.  I wouldn't start in Seattle Washington searching the Asian population, or in Phoenix Arizona searching the Latino population.  You would have to admit that it would be a waste of time and resources to do so.  I would search the White Christian community in the Birmingham Alabama area, and pull over every pickup truck with stars and bars flying from it, and a shot gun in the rear window.  So yes, my focal point would be WHITE, CHRISTIAN, AND MALE that live in the south where there has been a history of racial discrimination and intimidation.  Would that be ignorant?

Now, I didn't say Muslim was the ONLY focal point. As a matter of fact, I concede that all Muslims are NOT terrorist, but all terrorist attacks on American interests around the world are by Muslims. Don't twist my statement.

Im not sure your examples apply-
- I was working in Detroit a couple years ago- I had to call 911- a guy was beating on his girlfriend- the first question from the 911 operator ( is he black or white ? ) is that what your talking about ?

I have flown through Washington Dulles Airport DOZENS of times in the last few years- 'half' of the employees THERE are Muslim-always prayer rugs all over the place - many TSA are Muslim-and now wouldn't that be a bltch- a Muslim scrotum checker -

GE World Research lab- right down the street- have many engineers that are Musim

They all have one thing in common--- no one is affiliated with AL QAEDA

somebody, you are all over the map with your posts. This post has absolutely nothing to do with cicero's post! I understand that you are trying to make a point here.....but about what?

And I also agree with MT....how the heck do you or anyone else know who is affiliated with al qaeda and who isn't? People are real quick to say that all muslims are not terrorists. But they sure as hell are the only ones attempting and succeeding (911) to kill americans.

Wanna solve the unemployment problem. Take every muslin that is currently holding a job here in our country and send them back to their middle eastern country. Never mind...just send em all back and don't let anymore back in! YUP....racial profiling! Whatever it takes to protect our fellow americans and the land we call home! IMHO

I guess those Muslims that work at the airport- baggage handlers- TSA- airplane clean up and maintenance- the ones that swipe their card to open a secure door that YOU  cannot touch- maybe they  have not had a back ground check-and are related to Osama - and a couple of airplane cleaning crew- Abdul and Ali fricken Babba are gonna stuff a bomb down the toilet some day-   but I doubt it-

GE Human Resourses - Some personnel at the GE Research lab not only need give their SS#- but their parents SS# and   In 48 hours they will know more about you -than you and will know  - including your favorite color-

Your unemployment strategy falls somewhere between ignorant and bigot- you guys have all the symptoms of real Schenectady Machismo -

Sombody-You're killing me!!  LOL  Bumble if you really wanted to protect innocent Americans you must have been screaming to get out of Iraq as well.  Our kids never should have gone there.  I was ok at the time with Afghanistan but never supported Iraq.  And I don't support a surge in Afghanistan now either.  And btw, they don't like Americans in Italy either.

What I gather from sombody's erratic post's is that a nation cannot wage a war against terrorism.  I think sombody takes the position that terrorist are equivalent to the common criminal that commits random acts of violence in all societies - like murder, rape, and robbery.  Sombody's argument was blown out of the water when he/she tried to equate the metaphorical wars like on drugs, poverty, cancer, ect, to a real war with real people, who are well organized and well funded, with a publicly stated mission of destroying the west, America and the infidels.  Bin Laden and the rest of the radicals do not parse words when stating their ultimate goal- death to America.  They are a radicalized faction of the MUSLIM religion that preach jihad against the west.

Those other wars like drugs, cancer, fat, have never had a video broadcast on Al Jazeera and around the world taking credit for killing 3000 Americans.

I really don't care what the Italians in Italy think. They changed sides just in time not to be a country of war criminals. As far as I am concerned we went too soft on them after 1944. But Alleycat, you are not educated enough to understand those legal and ethical issues of world diplomacy. Spaghetti and meatballs is what you know.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Bomber’s failed bid should be wake-up call for U.S.
BY JAMES JAY CARAFANO McClatchy-Tribune

It’s tempting to look at Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s foiled attack on a Detroit-bound airplane as an isolated incident. But the frightening fact is that the Nigerian suspect is far from alone.
Since 2001, there have been 28 failed terrorist attacks against the United States. That averages out to about three foiled attempts per year. And would-be attackers are ramping up. There were six failed attempts in 2009 — the most in a single year.
And these attackers aren’t acting alone. Abdulmutallab must have been recruited by someone. He must have worked with a bomb maker. He must have had a “terrorist travel agent.” That’s at least four people working to kill Americans, and it adds up to a full-blown terrorist cell.
Further, we can’t take much solace in Abdulmutallab’s failure. To be blunt, the survival of Flight 253 was a Christmas miracle. The attacker had enough explosive to bring down the plane, and he was in the process of setting it off. He failed only because alert passengers stopped him. In stopping No. 28, America just got lucky.
The fact is that, despite plenty of the warning signs, authorities did nothing to impede Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s travel. He was on watch lists, but was allowed to fly. His father warned American authorities he was a danger, but he was issued a visa. People failed to do their jobs. This represents a failure in homeland security and a failure in leadership.
NOT THE FIRST TIME
Tragically, this isn’t the first time that visible warning signs were ignored.
In November, Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan gunned down a dozen of his fellow soldiers and wounded 20 more at Fort Hood. Despite his contact with a radical Islamic cleric, Hasan had been allowed to treat patients (some complained he attempted to convert them). Despite the fact that he openly questioned his country and its military mission, he was going to be deployed to service in Afghanistan. “The system” ignored these and other red fl ags, and good people paid with their lives.
Others were recruited here to carry out attacks overseas. They include five young men from northern Virginia who shipped off to Pakistan; youth from Minneapolis enticed to fight for Al-Shabaab (an al-Qaeda affiliate); and David Coleman Headley, who allegedly helped plan the Mumbai attacks and other potential strikes.
In short, the system failed repeatedly in 2009. There’s a global terrorist network out there and we don’t know what it is doing to get us.
To make matters worse, Washington hasn’t shown that it cares very much. “This administration prefers to avoid using the term ‘Long War’ or ‘Global War on Terror’ (GWOT),” a Defense Department memo explained last spring. “Please use ‘Overseas Contingency Operation.’ ”
But a war by any other name is just as deadly.
NOT CARING
The Obama administration simply doesn’t seem to care that some powers granted by the Patriot Act are due to expire in two months. Instead, the Department of Homeland Security is pushing for a mass amnesty bill that would do nothing to thwart terrorists.
Detroit is a wake-up call. It highlights a failure in counterterrorism operations, and a failure in leadership.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano now agrees that the system did fail. History will judge her on whether or not she does enough to prevent it from failing next time. Because next time we may not be as lucky.

What happened to the Asian-Americans during WW2????-----Show me your papers.......a war is a war-----they always exist,,,we always will have enemies
history folks history.......profiling?------WE ALL DO IT EVERYDAY.........EVERYDAY........ALL OF US.....

why do folks want to build 'compounds' with alot of $$.......so they can have their own 'kingdom' with 'their own kind'..........

America's gladiators all do it.......and every other country has 'gladiators' that do the same......and we pay them alot so they can........

I have no compound and I have no giant kingdom.......but, I am human and I have human nature as do every single one of us here.......

Democrats clueless on subject of national security

After listening to [Homeland Security Secretary] Janet Napolitano tell Americans the “system worked” [Dec. 28 Gazette], I have to wonder how anyone can believe Democrats have a clue regarding national security.
Their immature meddling has nearly destroyed the economy, and now their insipid, inane view of Islamic terrorism places all Americans in great danger. The Democratic idea of a system that works is one of us jumping over a seat to attack an idiot trying to blow up a plane. When I heard what that guy did, to be honest, the first thing that went through my mind was what kind of lawsuit he would face from the ACLU.
Will this system eventually require us to carry liability insurance? Should that be single payer?
It’s time that representatives and senators were required to fly coach on commercial flights. No more lobbyist- provided planes, and no more private jets. It won’t wake these liberals up, but at least when a plane goes down because of their utterly stupid feel-good policies, maybe they’ll be on it.

Dont worry about the liability insurance---hell, dead is dead, with or without insurance.....what I would caution us against is the overbearing nature
of the fear mongering and the push for 'RealID'/Patriot Act and countless other crappy laws that make the 'innocent' prove up......

GET OFF MY BACK,,,,,,DONT TREAD ON ME

Bin Laden Claims Responsibility for Christmas Day Bomb Attempt
Sunday , January 24, 2010

Usama bin Laden claimed responsibility for the failed attempt to bomb a Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas day, releasing a new audio message Sunday threatening more attacks on the United States.

A senior U.S. intelligence official in Washington called the latest message "curious," commenting that the tape is uncharacteristically brief it and shows efforts by bin Laden to attach himself to Palestine's cause.

The official also said there is no evidence that bin Laden had any involvement on the Christmas Day attack — or even knew about it beforehand — but that perhaps the leader hopes to attach himself with a "successful" operation by Al Qaeda. The message suggests the Al Qaeda leader wants to appear in direct command of the terrorist group's many affiliates around the world at a time when some analysts have suggested he is mostly a figurehead.

In the minute-long recording carried by Al-Jazeera Arabic news channel, bin Laden addressed President Obama saying the Christmas attack was meant to send a message similar to that of the Sept. 11 attacks.

"The message delivered to you through the plane of the heroic warrior Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a confirmation of the previous messages sent by the heroes of the Sept. 11," he said. "America will never dream of security unless we will have it in reality in Palestine," he added.

"God willing, our raids on you will continue as long as your support for the Israelis continues."

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the tape has yet to be authenticated, but wouldn't offer an opinion on whether bin Laden had any role in the Christmas Day bombing.............>>>>.............>>>>.................http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,583758,00.html?test=latestnews
