Democrats hurt poor by helping them too much

The Democrats have a reputation for supporting the poor. Not all agree.
Most born into poverty and deprived of a good public school system remain in poverty. The industrious few that broke out to become productive citizens are quite critical of the welfare system.
One observation they have made is that Democrats are intentionally perpetuating poverty with a disincentive of work ethic in the form of food stamps and the multitude of financial subsidies. Layered on that is their overt opposition to charter schools, which deprives the more ambitious of an opportunity to succeed.
What reason would a party that professes to be the champion of the poor have not to end poverty? I would suggest that eliminating poverty is not in their best interest, as the very poor are reliable Democratic supporters.
Most Americans promote free enterprise and the discipline required to excel. They are pleased by the growing ranks of heroes that were born into, but conquered, poverty. Those same successful people want to share the lessons they have learned in order to help others break out of perpetual poverty. They have a story to tell that could profit the poor as well as the legislators who intend no harm.
Speaking of harmful legislation, the proposed health care reform will add as many as 23 million to the rolls of the already poorly rated Medicaid program — which already suffers a doctor shortage. Rationing can’t be avoided.

You think “poor” people are “poor” because they aren’t working hard enough to get “rich”-
- you think it’s unfair that you are taxed at a higher rate than the “poor” - you call that “spreading the wealth”-  for you “charity” is only a means of reducing your taxable income - you generally don’t believe that “wealth should be spread around” so the concept of “charity” doesn’t really appeal to you-

Charity is one thing.....hand outs to keep the oppressed, oppressed for life are two different animals!

And NO....I do not want my hard earned money going to support cradle to grave welfare recipients. However, our government is doingjust that. Without the suppressed, poor, population, who would vote for a dem/lib?????

Folks dont know what 'rich' or 'poor' is.......I'm no Bill Gates so I guess I would be that pathetic middleclass group(and not so far
up on that ladder).....but,,,,I have what I have because I have what I have.....and I dont have what I dont have because I dont
have it........

charity/brotherly love or whatever we want to call it certainly doesn't belong in the governments hands......I dont know about anyone
else but the 'leaders' are cigar 'handlers'/callgirl visitors/dogfighting-football players/'hole in one or two or three golfers'
spoiled BFFs/Girls Next door to the pervy old guy.......etc etc.....

They all talk about donating time/money etc,,,,leaders in brotherly love sure,,,,go ahead but dont make me feel guilty or sad.....I can
do it on my own....and if you or I dont,,,,,that's life........

GET OFF MY BACK......I will give what I can give and......no one will ever know.....but, dont you take it from me and make an idol out
of it.........for election time........

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
