WHY ISN'T ANDREW CUOMO INVESTIGATING THE WORKING FAMILIES PARTY?
New Yorkers for Growth Says Newspaper Series Demands Investigation
New York, NY--New Yorkers for Growth, the leading fiscal reform group in New York State, today--for the third time in five months--called on New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (D-WFP) to open up an investigation into the highly questionable inner workings of New York's Working Families Party and its myriad not-for-profit and for-profit entities.
NYFG has been calling for an investigation by the Attorney General's office since August, when an investigative series by City Hall Newspaper began revealing possible illegalities on multiple fronts by the WFP and its intertwined network of confederates.
Links to the City Hall reports can be accessed here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
"The New York State Attorney General has an obligation to investigate credible allegations of political, campaign finance, and not-for-profit fraud," said New Yorkers for Growth spokesman Bill O'Reilly. "We understand that the politics of this may be touchy--the Working Families Party backed Mr. Cuomo--but public duty has to supersede political considerations. New Yorkers for Growth is confident that the Attorney General will do the right thing."
