Jimmy Tedisco is done, he's a walking example of why we should have term limits. Ironic.

Have heard the names Jim Buhrmaster {R-Glenville}and Kathy Marchione {Saratoga County Clerk} to replace Jimmy. If Jimmy cared about the REPS he would make his intentions known. If you really believe in term limits stop grandstanding and resign. If he runs for Congress again he will have to primary John Faso.

For George Amedore's seat-he should be the one to replace Farley. Brad Littlefield's name keeps coming up for this seat.

Tedisco needs to retire to something else.  He's done.  Buhrmaster is a business who understands the real world.  Marchione is a county clerk who works for the people not herself.  Great candidates for Assembly.

Faso should consider a Governor run again since Rudy is not interested.

Brad Littlefield has my support for the 105th Assembly seat.  We need his caliber in the Assembly.  What has George Amedore done for us?  His recent mailer is just a waste of paper.

pg13,
Perhaps, Peter Guidarelli will primary Jim Tedisco for the New York State Assembly seat.  What are your thoughts?
Will the NY State and County Conservative party endorse Guidarelli over Tedisco?  That could determine which
candidate the Republican party endorses.

I don't imagine PG would consider primarying Tedisco, I would imagine he would be interested in the seat
if Tedisco retired or whatever. Buhrmaster, nice guy but not a proven candidate in any regard. What has he
accomplished? I don't know anything about Saratoga's clerk so I have no opinion on her until I gather
some facts. I'm sure that Bafoon BF would throw his hat and Daddy's money into the race. I do think
Tedisco should just move on to something else, preferably in the private sector.

As for Amedore, I think he should run for Senate (Farley's seat). I think he would crush Savage/Stratton.
I'm not sure who would be a good replacement for Amedore then..... going to have to think on that one.
Who is a good Conservative-Republican from Rotterdam or the City.... Hmmm, I'm stuck.

Let's think outside podunk.  This is a big Senate district.  Gotta be some fresh meat that's not spoiled by the City or Rotterdam politics.

Look to Delanson for a replacement for Amedore. A real Conservative with that missing ingredient-honesty. Right about Metrograft from Day One.

If Peter won't take on Fast Break Tedisco then forget it. Everyone wants a seat handed to them on a silver platter, like REP Chairman. Peter should announce and chase Jimmy out. Let Tedisco go back to the private sector-right-he never worked in the private sector. He will be missed in the Assembly-by who?

First, I couldn't agree with you more on this one.

Second, perhaps tedisco's term limit proposal is in fact a planned open door (excuse) for him to resign/retire from politics. That may have been in the cards all along. Just a thought.

Sounds like several sitting NYS Assemblyman may face primaries in 2010.

Who will be their challengers?

PDQ was right. The NNTP faded faster than a summer tan. Even before Election Day it was kaput.

Benny,

We will keep your projection front and center.  Don't think that you'll be "taking a victory lap" on this prediction.

The election was not even a month ago and you already proclaim that the NNTP is "kaput".

Time will tell, my friend.  Time will tell.

Impose strict term limits, by vote, in N.Y. Legislature

“Common cause” and “self interest;” remember those expressions. In the Dec. 6 Gazette, I read “Gay marriage victim of Albany politics.” The politicians figured they would lose more than they would gain by backing gay marriage. The same serpentine logic guides the Legislature with regard to taxation and spending.
Term limits — not the legislative or constitutional convention variety — make all elected positions one-term, no exception. Once the politicians realize there is no future in elective office, he or she might act in the interests of the public. They would cease to be a “politicians” and become public servants.
The “gay lobby” pumps money into various politicians believing they have bought their vote. The vast majority of the electorate pumps tax dollars into government and expects the government to act in our best interest. No one is getting bang for their buck. The message is clear: Make government service a place where men and women come to serve our interest for a brief period.
The gay marriage issue is one of those things calculated to divide us, not bring us together. This serves the interest of the politician, not the public.
Some will say we need elected officials with experience. I beg your pardon. Look at the mess experience has created in New York state and the nation. How long will the experience lie be believed? Do not wait for 2012 for earth-shaking events; un-elect all incumbents in 2010 and make a new world at the ballot box.

You'll never get the entrenched politicians to vote for term limits and end their free ride on our dollar. The only way to get rid of them will be to start voting them out of office in 2010 and continue to do so with every election there after. I'd like to see a referendum on the ballot in November that would limit term limits but I fear that's only a dream.

Edmond Day should take over the pathetic County REPS. He made his bones on Paul V's morning talk show. Everyone talks about "new leadership" than crawls back into the bunker.
