The 2010 Campaign season began on Wed., Nov. 4th.  Election day 2010 is Tuesday, Nov. 2nd

What offices are up for election in 2010?

I believe that the following "local" races will be on the Nov 2010 ballot.  I indicated the
current office holder for each.

NYS Governor - Paterson (D)
NYS Attorney General - Cuomo (D)
NYS Comptroller - DiNapoli (D)
NYS Senate - District 43 - McDonald (R)
NYS Senate - District 44 - Farley (R)
NYS Senate - District 45 - Little
NYS Senate - District 46 - Breslin (D)
NYS Assembly - District 105 - Amedore (R)
NYS Assembly - District 106 - Canestrari (D)
NYS Assembly - District 110 - Tedisco (R)
U.S. Senate - Schumer (D)
U.S. Senate - Gillibrand (D)
U.S. House of Representatives - 20th Congressional District - Murphy (D)
U.S. House of Representatives - 23rd Congressional District - Owens (D)

What have I overlooked?  Are there local (town, county) races?  Is the County Sheriff position up again in 2010?

Time to begin the debate.

Who will run?  Who will retire?  Who will be the candidates for each office?

Be careful of what you ask for.

Though I would like to see NYS Assemblyman Amedore challenge Tonko when the 21st District Congressional seat is up for election.
Amedore has the name recognition and the support needed to challenge Tonko.

And Amedore has something that Tonko will never possess ... conservative principles.

LOL Amedore is a dolt.  He could never win over Tonko.  He hasn't got any brains.  You need to think about challenging Amedore and get him out of the Assembly.  He is useless there.  You however, would be a good choice.  But you need to move on it now.  Tonko is not going anywhere unless perhaps Jerry Jennings would primary tonko and that is possible but I rather see Jennings as running for Lt. Gov. with Cuomo at the head of the ticket.

Amedore--get a grip.

Brad--just re-read the post.  Yes Amedore has what Tonko does re; conservative principles.  However, Tonko has what Amedore doesn't have--BRAINS.  Get in there and primary Amedore fo r Assembly.  Start now.

Is the County Sheriff position up again in 2010?

I heard that the Sheriff race that just concluded was only for 1 year to fill the remaining portion
of Buffardi's term.  Is this correct?

Will we see a rematch of Dagostino and Lazzari in 2010?  If so, perhaps they should just leave
the campaign signs up ... jk

Thanks husky for the encouragement.

I've been rejected twice; once in a Conservative party committee race and most recently for a try at County Legislature.

Not sure that my self-esteem could survive another assault by the electorate.

As I've said before, not sure if the voters rejected the message or the messenger.  Perhaps, another must step up to
"carry the flag".  Interested?

This isn't or shouldn't be about self-esteem. Or about an 'assault' by the electorate. If candidates or politicians depended on the electorate to validate their self-esteem, no one would run or be in political office.

HH--I agree Brad would be great in the 105th.  Amedore has done nothing.  He is an "extreme" do nothing.  This job is not important to him.  Also for a man who is building apartments for seniors it is interesteing to note that he voted against seniors getting back their security deposit in an expedited manner.  Seniors are on fixed incomes it is important for them to be able to count every penny.  Brad would be great.

Giuliani???Faso--I think it will be Cuomo and maybe Jennings.  Unless Jennings goes after the Congressman's job..good possibility since he was miffed with Tonko for supporting Shawn Morris.  No one could figure out why Tonko did that.  Yup Brad is the man for the job.
