BREAKING: Scozzafava suspends NY 23 campaign
Republican Dede Scozzafava has suspended her bid in next Tuesday’s NY 23 special election, a huge development that dramatically shakes up the race. She did not endorse either of her two opponents -- Conservative party candidate Doug Hoffman or Democrat Bill Owens.
The decision to suspend her campaign is a boost for Hoffman, who already had the support of 50 percent of GOP voters, according to a newly-released Siena poll, and is now well-positioned to win over the 25 percent of Republicans who had been sticking with Scozzafava.
Scozzafava has “probably made her last campaign appearance between now and Election Day,” spokesman Matt Burns told POLITICO. “She’s releasing her support to the two other candidates."
"I had a discussion with her last night, and we made the decision after I spoke with her. We talked about it, what this came down to was spending. It came down to the ability to defend herself from the get-go. And that’s the reality. She was unable to define herself where the people didn’t know her."
POLITICO has the full story on Scozzafava's surprise decision here. |

This is just the beginning. The 2 party system is just starting to be cut off at it's knees.

Big Surprise! That a radical lefist RINO--pro-abortion, pro-card check, pro-Obama stimulus got nailed by Gov Palin and the next Congressman Doug Hoffman? ROTFLMAO!! Now get her out of Albany. She should never run for office again. He have too many like her on Shelly's side. BT is right this is why you vote NNTP all the way. Clear out all the RINO's in Rotterdam starting with nightmare Steverino/Surprise. One big win before Election Day. |

Now the latest: the RINO Dodo has just endorsed the liberal DEM Owens! You can't make this up. Go Doug Hoffman {C}-we need one Congressman in this State that stands up to horrible Obama and the REP "leaders". Sickening. This Assemblywoman just ended her political career. |

This is a prime example of what the dems and reps have been doing. They are cross endorsing candidates that totally blur the party lines. Or they endorse their own candidates that are as far from the parties ideology as the west is from the east. Something has to change. And let's begin here with the NNTP! VOTE ROW F. |

...he would have to be losing to do that. |

I'm beginning to think this whole thing was nothing more than a set up by the reps. The reps were obviously losing ground while the dems were obviously picking up speed. The reps were cornered with no fresh ideas.
Hence comes in these 'independent conservatives' with fresh new ideas that maintained the rep ideology, but appears to run in the middle bashing both parties. Good candidates that would have NEVER been elected under the rep umbrella. Once the endorsed rep backs out, they throw their support to this 'independent conservative'.
The reps send in the 'energizer', Sarah Palin who professes to be disgruntled with 'politics as usual', to back this guy.
BRILLANT STRATEGY!! BRILLIANT!

That just may be...
The republicans endorse a liberal like Scozzafava, all the while running an independent conservative like Hoffman. They create a media buzz, and motivate the conservative base to come out and vote for Hoffman that may not have come out if he was endorsed by the Republican Party the traditional way because of the damage the Republican image has taken during the Bush tenure. High ranking party officials like Dick Army, Fred Thompson, and Sarah Palin don't endorse a candidate without leadership OK. These people are quite indebted to the Party, for them to publicly come out against an Party endorsed candidate seems a little fishy. I think there may be something to this being a staged performance in order to manipulate the electorate. JMHO |

Right it is all a conspiracy hatched by Gov Palin and Sen Thompson? ROTFLMAO!! The REPS did what they always do, run the same old retrends and recycles. Dede should be thrown out of the Assembly next. They still don't get it -when they run a second socialist the peeps will always vote for the DEM. Doug Hoffman will win in a landslide-then hopeful real CONS will emerge here against horrible Tonko and in NY-20 against that Missouri carpetbagger. This all proves that the NNTP is on the right path must go Countywide and field a full County slate. |
