Well RUDE seems to be the strong-suit of this board.  I would think you would want to encourage young people to become interested and involved.  Now you fools just taught her that in fact "Rotterdam is NOT a nice place to live."

Cal, do you even read your own post's?  You say less than flattering things about the present administration.  Please stop acting is if you stay above the fray.  Politics are what they are.  The sooner the kid realizes that, the better.

I'm tellin' ya....she is clueless! If she is an example of what an education system creates in people....perhaps fdg wouldn't be so bad!

I am a Rotterdam citizen. And as for my education, I went to Mohonasen like many in Rotterdam have.

Also, this was not a last-ditch effort to "defend my mommy". So back off!!

Yes that would be you.  Are you saying polticians neglect their families?  If your above diatribe is the only reality you know, you are a sad little man/woman.  Might as well go south with MT and wire up your nasty remarks and less than accurate verbiage.

If you just said that fdg is in deep water, which I heard the same, how can you say this about ms. barrie? As nice as she may be, they have her and visus, last.

BT--think yours and Mary's info is a little off.  ST  is in losing mode.  He's an incumbent and he can't get passed the 30% mark.  I heard Brian is doing QUITE well but FDG still ahead.  ADmit it, Parisi hurt this campaign in a lot of ways.  And the Reps negativity has really PO the usual REps.  I don't know which horse you really have in this race but it will be between FDG and Brian.  JD and HV are behind Brad.  Mary is running close to JD and Viscusi is last.  I think in this case the endorsements have helped Mary.  Although I am of the Jerry Jennings school of thought, they don't help, I think in this case they have improved Mary's standing a lot.

Great thanks for finding that press release. Yes, I'm extremely proud of my NYS career.  Back when I started, the private sector jobs were plentiful.  GE was hiring and their salaries were much higher. I didn't care. I came from a family of civil servants and wanted to work for NYS. It's called commitment to serving others. Many jobs offer this type of personal satisfaction. My career has been rewarding and fulfilling. I work hard because I feel the taxpayer deserves the best I can do. As the economy tanked, state worker salaries didn't. However, we were furloughed several times to help offset the declining revenues in the state coffers.  DEC has lost many positions in the last year. As have other agencies. NYS is trimming the budget. Union contracts will be on the bargaining table and I'm sure we will be facing 0% increases in salary as we have in the past.

I also contributed to my retirement. That was ended by Comptroller Carl McCall if my memory serves me right. The pension fund was doing well because the economy was doing well.  So NYS management decided we didn't need to contribute any more. That will change with Tier V.

I'm also very pleased with my League of Conservation Voters endorsement. Probably the only time in my life I'll share the same endorsement as Mayor Bloomberg.

I'm sorry for the shortsightedness of them.....the $$ contributions should have stayed the same.....

too bad they were trying to purchase the union vote and too bad the union leaders will still be leeches...

it should all be turned over to the unions and the unions should ultimately be responsible for the whole
animal.....maybe then folks will have a full view.....

as for the LWV----they too can be bought for the price of a cooking kettle.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

2 days before Election Day and neither SS Savage nor Judy DAG have been mentioned by the so-called opponents. Only one rotten apple? Talk about taking a dive. Had enough-YET?

If you're sick of the twindle-dee and twindle-dum politics you finally have a choice. One party runs failed incumbents the other runs blanks. Got to be starting something Countywide..Vote NO New Tax Party-ROW F-all the way.

Tippy--that is exactly correct!  Congrats for acknowledging that young people are VERY wired.  Whether you like Obama or not, his campaign folks figured that out early on.  But kids will shy away from public service, if the Boomer generation continues to treat them like outsiders.  It's Jen's generation that are going off to War.  Not the other posters here--who do troll the board when not busy or others who find it to be a muse.

Benny--CORRECT!!! Failed retreads in Rotterdam. ST was too stupid to dump Surprise.  His "dear in the headlights" demeanor makes him look impotent in his position in TH. And NO excuse for the incivility to Eunie. Dems will sweep this I hope and it will be SWEET for the party!
