Doesn't matter--how did it affect your life.  It didn't.  We had no idea about that until Cicero thought to malign somebody in an effort to make Surpirse look like a stellar assessor.  He was a terrible jerk to people.  That in and of itself should have gotten him fired.  Not to mention his incompetence. Even PG said "who was the idiot who signed that contract."  He was a Tommasone find.  Salami is right--back to the bunker for the dead enders. Hang out a shingle so we know where you are.

OKAY.....I just made a couple of calls. And yes cicero is correct about 'a past assessor' getting fired from the state for booking and then landing a job in rotterdam as assessor.

I'm wondering now, and may have to make a few more calls to find out, if this is related to the same person who ran down the sunrise est's sign.

Ya just can't make this stuff up!!!

And where's puddy when ya need 'em?

A great deal of talk in this thread regarding TH employees and their performance, personalities and salaries.
I've watched many of the town board meetings on SACC but haven't seen many residents attend the meetings and give their comments to the board.

Why not get yourselves over to the TB meeting and contribute your comments...tomorrow at 7pm would be an excellent opportunity to do so!

You will need a $320,000 check

Again what is the value?

Sorry, its not worth the effort just have the man follow the letter of the law good or bad.

We as a town need to get over the fact of life that the state mandates assessments

How about our chief of police requesting $121,340.00 per year???

Or our deputy chief of police requesting$101,405.00 per year

But we are lucky if they can bring in $500,000.00 in revenue with all the speeders on 890

Your police dept comes in at $6,528,995 in requests for 2010 out of at total tentative budget of $13,737,369
Now there is some value.

Make sure you get your moneys worth at the tax collection office and the town clerks office as they both collect a base salary of $50,350

Our comptroller requested $110,000.00 but is at 86,445.00 so far

Councilmembers are at an $10,000 a piece
Supervisor at $13,000

Just remember that breaking of contracts creates billable hours for attoneys

The Town Board is having a public hearing tomorrow night on the 2010 budget...why not bring your comments to the meeting?

Oh yea, like I'd stand up at the tb meeting, give my name and address, for the record, and share my concerns about the police salary. Not many folks gonna do that, imho!

Never heard of it.  None of this matters.  BT you are probably the biggest TROLL on here--not to mention gossip.  What matters is a full audit needs to be done in TH.  That's what everyone should be calling for-demanding.  Why worry about who drove through or past or into a stupid sign.  And who cares about somebody who was a bookmaker--LOL   That's almost as shocking as Joe Lazzari parking in the City garage when he wasn't supposed to.  This town should be demanding an audit!  Mr. Surprise needs to write a thank you note to the Town for letting us entertain him for the past year or so.  Swami Salami said it--here's my offer NOTHING.

The truth is, FDG ran for town supervisor because his assessment accurately reflected the market value of his property.  Mr. Surprise did his job by accurately assessing his property, a job that prior assessors conveniently turned a blind eye to.  The Democrats were willing to endorse a resident that hasn't voted in the past ten years, because he was a motivated millionaire that could outspend the Republicans.

I would take a rude assessor any day, over an assessor with a questionable character like our prior assessor.  Like I said, we didn't spend $750K because our prior assessors did a good job.

Look Cissy--OUTSPEND??????????ROTFLMAO    I got about three mailers from FDG and about 25 from the Reps.  YOu guys have your nose out of joint because you lost.  Well you lost because you had a loser in the Super's job.  He was a terrible Suprvisor.  The most innocuous and easy things he couldn't do.  He never even returned phone calls had Fiorillo do it for him.  That's not delegation of duties it's dereliction of duties.  Surprise is LOUSY at his job.  Adjusted for some and not for others and then threw people out of his office when they brought his attention to his errors.  He is what brought old Stevie Ego down.

You reps did a smear campaign that is still being talked about all over the community and into Albany County. The Reps from Rotterdam look like fools. I don't care if FDG voted in the last ten years.  As far as I remember that still is choice.  Your vote is your opportunity to voice your opinion if you so choose.  Your problem is that your leaders did a terrible job this campaign with their lies and inuendos.  Instead of coming after FDG and the old assessor why don't you focus on demanding a resignation from GP and TB.

I would take the former assessor any day of the week as would many people I know. This election was about CHANGE.  You guys still don't get it--nobody likes all the mean-spirited stuff you throw out.  That's why you lost.    I hope FDG calls for a full audit of TH.  Your folks will be quaking in their boots I am sure.

I saved all of the mailers, and I received 45 of them in total. They were equally split, except for the No New Tax Party's.

You guys?

Can you get out of the realm of politics for just one second?  Just answer the question.  Did Delgallo get involved in politics because he didn't like what his property taxes were after he was fully assessed?  I could care less about Surprises being rude, or the people whose feelings were hurt when they went to his office.  That is all superficial.  Is Delgallo's house worth $1.4 million or what ever it is, or $250K what he is suing for.

And please stop with the "change" rhetoric.  As we found out in 10 short months with Obama, change isn't always positive.

Oh yeah, because I'm not a registered Republican...I could give two shits about GP or TB/

If you got 45 mailers I am pretty shocked.  I was bombarded with Rep mailers but NOT Dems.  Maybe my address was not on every list.  I got one with the sauce recipe, one with ST looking like a cartoon and one with a letter from FDG--perhaps one more after that and a door hanger.  The rest were all ST's crap and DD for sheriff.  Very few from FDG.

Cis if you're not a Rep why parade around with an elephant as your tag.  I am not experienced at assessing anyone's property.  I have no idea what his property is worth.  But if it is assessed at 1.4 HE SHOULD have asked for a reduction.  This is Rotterdam!

Who cares why he got invovled in politics?  He did it.  No other commentary is needed on that subject.

As for Obama--you bet he is the change I was looking for.  After eight years of an arrogant jerk who has spent every ounce of goodwill this country had and all of our standing, he's lucky nobody has brought him up on war crimes.  How many kids do you think we need to lose before you condemn him?  Only sixty percent of the returning soldiers are able to get back to their life, another thirty need constant counseling and support to function and another ten percent just lost and never able to function again.  He drove this country into a depression.  He filled the pockets of the medical community and looked the other way for those entrenched in poverty.  And you want to blame Obama?  Yeah right.  If any of us had any brains, when we saw an oil man hit the White House we all should have run out and purchased stock in oil.  Get off it Cis.

Is it that you don't care, or you really don't know the answer? Remember, you were the one who was promoting him before you had even met him until later on in the campaign. So that would lead one to believe that you really don't know the answer.

I'll take an oil man in the white house versus a self proclaimed socialist, hate monger preacher and the Beverley hillbillies sowing their crops on the south lawn.
