My point exactly.  Who the heck does that to the League of Women Voters????  And to Maxine..
who is a senior citizen and an active one at that.  Well Dr. Evil and Mini Me made a HUGE faux pas.  Couple that with Parisi/ST and the gang and their disrespectful behavior to FDG, Eunie and others in that generation and I would say you got a bunch ingrates for kids.  Maybe the Heene Family can send them up in the next flying saucer.

Are you talking about Maxine of the 'greeting card' series???? I LOVE her.......

as for LWV----shameful

Highly intelligent, 24yo, newlywed, engineer, locally born and raised, Schalmont grad.  A real keeper if you ask me.  He will be on the Board come January 1, 2010.

I'm sure that martin will do the best that he can if elected. And the people will be glad to hear that age and the level of intelligence of a candidate is being used in campaigns now when deciding who to vote for.

Respectable?  Again I ask--is Suhrada calling a LWV member a "fascist" respectable?
I agree with you cal...but in this case, everyone believes that 'the shoe fits'.

The debate that wasn't: Rotterdam GOP candidates blast forum which dems are no-show

Sean Ahern 10/21/09

At the League of Women Voters Rotterdam candidates forum Tuesday, Oct. 20, a question-and-answer portion of the event was scrapped for some candidates, prompting objections from Republican Town Board candidates Joe Suhrada and Joseph Signore.

The League had originally planned to allow the public to address local candidates for county and town offices, but when they were told the town Democratic candidates would not attend the event, they decided to forgo the public questions and give the GOP candidates two minutes to state their platform...............>>>>.............>>>>...........http://www.spotlightnews.com/news/view_news.php?news_id=1256141654

Ugly politics as usual in Rotterdam

...................>>>>..............>>>>.........http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00902&AppName=1

In fact, the letter, with its catalog of Del Gallo shortcomings and the smear above, reads as if it was written not for Cooke, but for the media, to which it was also sent.
This is not to say the Democrats are without blame. It does seem that they have been hiding Del Gallo, not letting him talk in public or to the media, rejecting a request by the Republicans for a series of debates with Supervisor Steve Tommasone. And now they keep him away from the LWV forum, where he could have made a case for himself, answered questions and, ideally with a little humor rather than rancor, addressed the Parisi letter. It might have won him some sympathy — and votes.
As for the well-meaning county LWV, it had some choices upon learning, just a day before, that Del Gallo and the other Democratic town candidates wouldn’t be coming. It could have cancelled the event, as the state and national organizations recommended. It could have gone ahead with it as planned, on the grounds that the other candidates — Republicans as well as third-party — had a right to present themselves to the public, and the public had a right to hear them. Instead it chose to hold the event and let the candidates make a brief statement, but not allow any questions or other interaction with the public. Not the right choice.
