Explain how the Catholics could and should have stopped the National Socialists? And why they had more responsibility than the other major religions of Germany particularly Evangelish (Lutheran.) Not that I support the current Catholic hierarchy political plan which is anti-American socialism. But I would like to know concretely what they could have done and why they are to blame for "letting the National Socialists do what they did?"

I tend to agree with 'smokey' on this one. The catholic church is so huge and bureaucratic that it has evolved into a world power minus a missile defense system. They are a country unto itself.
For anyone who reads and believes in the bible....the catholic church plays a major role 'toward the end'.
