Remember the date .......................................1931

"You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."*

No S@#$!!!

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

great read......

dont forget to read

We The Living by Ayn Rand

classic about dividing wealth for the masses to feast.....

Rome was on a spiral down when the storehouses were opened up for the masses to 'feed' like they worked for it....looters,beggars
sandbaggers, etc became okay,,,,why,,,,because someone would make it easy for you anyway.....

Not to get too offtopic, but that's why i think instead of handing someone a check, we should hand them services to allow them to work.

I don't spell check!  Sorry...
If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive.

Would you want to work if money, food, shelter and medical care were just given to you? Perhaps YOU would. But clearly there are many many who's job IS standing in front of the dss building in heat and cold. That is their career. I am a proponent for helping people.but it clearly goes beyond the ridiculous!

Accept the truth Sombody it will set you free. Jesus wasn't taxing us into bankruptcy to help tthe poor. Most of us are sick of funding those who choose not to work but live off the sweat of others. As I've said b4 we should be giving those who need it a hand up not a hand out.

Shadow and Senders - alright already- I agree with most of what yur saying- but maybe just read up a little on the person your quoting-
Adrian Rogers said it was a sin to not vote and generally did a very good job of blurring the line between church and state himself-

The church can say what it wants to it's 'constituents', no different than a 'union'-----

the government has no right to be my conscience or yours or anyone else's....

Well I don't like people telling me what to do either but unfortunately there aren't enough people like you and Mother Teresa-
Most are selfish and thoughtless- so the government has to step in.

Why do we need a law banning smoking in child daycare centers ?  It should be a no brainer-

It's all perception somebody. People have the right to be selfish and thoughtless. For example, I may perceive your post to be thoughtless and perhaps selfish. That is MY perception.
