Last updated: 12:43 a.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2009

SCHENECTADY -- Police are investigating the shooting late Monday of a teen in the city's Hamilton Hill section.

Official details were not immediately available. But according to police radio scanner broadcasts, a 17-year-old male was shot in the back shortly before midnight near the intersection of Stanley and Steuben streets.

The victim's identity and condition were not known, but initial reports indicated he was conscious and was being treated at the scene by paramedics.

No arrests had been made at press time.

Police were searching the area for clues and talking to possible witnesses. There was also some confusion as to where the shooting occurred. An Emmet street location was also mentioned as a crime scene.

Shooting incident
injures man in city

SCHENECTADY — A man with a single gunshot wound showed up at Ellis Hospital early Wednesday morning and police are investigating how it happened.
The man arrived at the hospital just before 1 a.m., telling officials he was shot at the corner of Schenectady and Strong streets, according to police spokesman Sgt. Eric Clifford.
Officers were sent to the area. The gunshot injury came a little more than 24 hours after an 18-yearold man was shot in the back just before midnight Monday at Stanley and Steuben streets. That shooting happened after a fight with another individual described as dressed in black. The victim’s condition has not been available.
Clifford had no information on whether the two incidents were related. No further information was available Wednesday night.
