What ever the RACC did in an intra party squabble has nothing to do with the fact that the democrats are suing to keep the republicans off the ballot in a general election. It is pretty wild to think that the judge would favor eliminating the concept of two-party elections at this stage simply because the democrats (as always) lawyer up!

Here's an example from today, I understand it's for the Independence line but both parties are always
doing this to one another. It's just doesn't happen with the main 2 lines because you have to be a real
smuck to screw the main party line up. (Which Sch'dy Repub Leadership consistantly proves again and
again)

ALBANY -- City Republicans have prevailed in knocking four citywide Democratic candidates from the
Independence Party line. Acting state Supreme Court Justice Gerald W. Connelly ruled on the case late this afternoon.

"As of now, he's taking them off the ballot," Caputo said of Mayor Jerry Jennings, Treasurer Betty Barnette, Leif Engstrom and Carolyn McLaughlin.

Engstrom is running for chief city auditor, McLaughlin for Common Council president.

At issue in the lawsuit is whether Engstrom properly swore in voters who signed the Independence Party
petitions.

Caputo, who said the GOP maneuver amounts to disenfranchisement, vowed an appeal.

No big deal? The old switcheroo is employed again-one name on the petitions and than another in the booth. In Nisky. not the City, where the GOP ran everything for decades. Supervisor Landry was finished if they just ran the first candidate. Unbelievable-only in Schenectady County.

Pretty simple.  There are rules we all have to follow.  And there are rules to get on the ballot.  If someone cannot follow the rules how is that fact someone else's fault?

Adhereing to the rule of law is what makes us not like Cuba.

Assuming Mr. Landry has no R opponent, which remains to be seen people can still write someone in on the November ballot.

You want these "leaders' to pick up 3rd party endorsements-when they can't even secure their own line? Pretty bad when Albany County REP is ahead of you. How does the Nisky REP chairman run for office and still stay chair? Unbelievable that this charade is allowed to continue.

NISKAYUNA - Niskayuna Republicans face the prospect of not having a town supervisor candidate on the ballot this fall after a judge on Friday ruled they filled out the wrong form to replace their original pick.

The GOP initially backed Jeffrey Frank for the town's top elected office and tried to replace him with Donald Cromer when Frank dropped out.

But in a ruling issued today, state Supreme Court Justice Vincent Reilly Jr. invalidated the document, a certification of substitution, that the GOP submitted to designate Cromer as their candidate.

But Reilly agreed with lawyers for Democrat Joseph Landry who argued that the GOP should have used a committee to fill vacancies, a panel a candidate picks to chose a successor if he or she drops out, to pick the replacement.

Niskayuna Republican Chairman Michael Mansion promised to appeal Reilly's decision.

"I hate to see the current supervisor get a free pass and have the election decided by the judge and not the voters in November," he said.

Landry would not face an opponent on a major party line if the GOP appeal fails. But the Republicans could still get their candidate on the ballot. They have until Aug. 18 to gather petition signatures to create an independent party line for Chromer

The unpopular DEM supervisor is getting a free pass because of the stupidity of these REPS. They can't even get there own candidate on the REP line in Nisky. They must all resign in disgrace. Get a new hobby.

Complete dereliction of duty. And the honorable judge is a Nisky REP himself. Unbelievable- Only in Schenectady County. Can't even win dogcatcher in that town anymore.

It's all the DEMS fault that these "leaders' can't read simple law? The learned judge has ruled no REP Supervisor candidate. Write in? These idiots can't even get a candidate on their own line.

Let the stunads appeal to the US Supreme Court, nothing will change. Great use of scare resources. No REP on the Nisky Town Board since 2001?

And yet the reps, apparently like GB, are pounding voters who are not supporting them. Hey all you political reps....we are still waiting to be rescued from the dictatorship. But we just are tired of waiting and don't see any change. A new party is the only way out for us now!

We're not waiting any longer!

"Hyper-technicalities" def. running one person then illegally switching to another person without filing the required forms. We should tolerate election fraud because there is no leadership?

Then blame the DEMS and Brian Quail for your own stupidity. And this same stunad is still running the REPS over there? lol! They are below rock bottom and continuing to plummet.
