Since the.pope has started a few threads designed to explore the "wishes" for major party ideology, I thought I'd introduce another idea...

What are your "wishes" for an independent, third party movement?

I'm not talking about those in the Independence Party.  I'm talking about the party without a party...by design.  I'm talking about the true independents...those voters not affiliated with any party...the voters also known as blanks.  They are the largest group now.  These are the coveted voters by ALL parties because you can't win without them.  That alone says something about party ideology, doesn't it?

I "wish" the independents harnassed their "displeasure" with the major parties by developing candidates of their own.  But like I said earlier, good candidates don't get "found" or "developed", they emerge.  Still, I'd like to see someone figure out the way to capitalize on their might while preserving their independent integrity.  I suspect that it just comes down to having candidates "emerge."  When they do, the independents will decide if they're for real.  The voters in the major parties will know it too.  Hey!  Look at that...parties don't matter at all, do they....it's about the individual candidates!

i have asked these questions of all three parties to sit and listen

and then ask further questions for clarity

like how does the Independence Party react to simple logic

are Independents worried about building alliances?

what do you mean by reacting to 'simple logic'?

if P then Q......

alliances are good as long as they dont 'cross the line' to pull for this and pull for that politics.....

I know everyone is going to say:"oh, but pull is how things get done."

I say: PULL IS HOW WE GOT OFF THE TRACK OF logic.......

human nature is fickle and certainly not logical......

Since there is really no place to put my comments regarding my political party, I will put them here:

I want a solid plan from these candidates.
I do not want someone saying, I won't know how to fix it until I get in there
to see what the problem is.  Personally, I do not want to line any pockets with my tax money on a maybe sorta attitude.

I do not want someone coming in saying a zero percent tax levy and then hammer us hard the next year because he/she
didn't do it right the first time.

I do not want a gas master telling me one thing and doing another.

More to come as I find out more about these candidates. Bottom line is PEOPLE HAVE A PLAN!  THAT INCLUDES
THE TOWN CLERK!

I'm sure this election year will really fire up after labor dayl By November, we will be just as sick and tired of hearing about and from all of the local candidates as we were the presidential election. (which started 1 1/2years prior)

This is from the bradlittlefield.org site:

"I have stated my commitment to identify and eliminate unnecessary spending and my pledge to oppose any increase in the county property tax levy during the first two years of my term. My objective, however, is to identify the means by which to lower property taxes so that individuals, families and investors will come to Schenectady County to make their homes and establish their businesses.

As an independent Conservative, I welcome the opportunity to work with those from across the political spectrum to address the needs of and deliver the required services to the people of Schenectady County. "

Mr. Littlefield I have to say this does sound good.....on paper.  Like the other candidates, you are not offering up a solid plan.  If you do not increase
the taxes even a little bit on a yearly basis, we as taxpayers will get hammered in years three and four without the growth in business.  Making promises
such as not increasing or lowering taxes is just not feasible.  It has to start from the New York State Government.  In order for the Town of
Rotterdam to survive, we need to attract businesses such as they did with Fulton County, NY.  They built this tremendous industrial park and
offered major incentives to come and to stay.  I have never been there, but have read up on the economic growth in the surrounding areas and that
is where Rotterdam is weak, very weak.  Candidates, please do your homework.  Talk to outlying county economic development boards.  Once I
see that one of you out there has made a conscious effort, I will absolutely consider voting for you.

We wouldn't have to offer stupid 'incentives'(code word for-back to your pocket) if the damn State would kill the monkey on our
backs....for that matter the Feds need to kill their monkey.....taxes taxes taxes and none to trace or track......
