Messmore to head Upper Union BID
SCHENECTADY — Mitch Messmore was named executive director of the Upper Union Street Business Improvement District by its executive committee.
Messmore, 38, replaces Jane Rothfield in the part-time position. Rothfield and her family are moving to Pennsylvania.
BID President Guy Sementilli said Messmore’s o r g a n i z a t i o n a l ability and creativity make him an asset to Upper Union Street. “We are anxious to have Mitch on board with us so we can experience his talents firsthand,” Sementilli said.
Messmore is founder and coordinator of Art Night Schenectady, which happens on the third Friday of every month. He is director of the Capital Region Initiative Supporting the Arts and is a board member of the ElectriCity Arts and Entertainment District.
