MALTA -- Racemark International, a car floor mat manufacturer who sells to luxury carmakers, laid off 36 people at their local plant last Thursday.
Racemark Chief Executive Officer Ginger Bailey said doing business in New York state has grown too costly. The 36 positions are being transferred to the company's plant in Georgia, and those being laid off have been offered their same position in Georgia, Bailey said.
"They've been a fabulously loyal people who have worked with the company the longest," Bailey said of those affected by the layoffs. The layoffs occurred primarily in the manufacturing department with other jobs being cut in finance and logistics.
Hey NYS how's raising the taxes on businesses and residents working out for you. Residents are moving out along with the businesses and the revenue coming into the state coffers is at an all time low.
Sure come to schenectady. The only county in the country where the taxpayers will sustain private business!
Funny, that advertising ain't working either!
The only ones that keep on moving to the county are the drug dealers, gangs and welfare recipients. What a joke!

Gee, I wonder why they didn't come and talk to the Metroplex about keeping some jobs in the area...
ROTFLMAO!!
Maybe because Metrograft is a total flop? The answer to too much Socialism is not more Socialism. Not one company has relocated from Saratoga County to higher taxed Schenectady County. And no amount of Metrograft freebies will change this.
