Farley no better than the rest of the legislative crop

Re Frank Ciervo’s June 22 letter, “Hugh Farley several cuts above most politicians”: The “my representative is OK” brainwash has begun. “Throw the bum out” scares politicians.
Hugh Farley’s “integrity for more than 30 years” has made New York almost the highest taxed state in the union. Some other accomplishments of Hugh’s integrity: Schenectady County, one of the highest taxed counties in America, a gridlocked Senate, fees (taxes) that drive business and jobs out of the state, and decaying infrastructure. The list of accomplishments of Hugh’s integrity is almost without end.
Hugh Farley is not exceptional, he is typical. Frank Ciervo is typical of what votes over and over again for more of the same. Frank did not mention that in his travels, he would have found states and municipalities with lower taxes functioning just fi ne.
Guess what? Hugh will be reelected and taxes will not go down.
“Sen. Farley’s knowledge of the issues” has done nothing but provide cushy jobs for his family and friends. He did not have the integrity to speak out about Gov. Pataki’s excesses (a fellow Republican), which contributed to the decline of New York state.
Vote for anyone but Sen. Farley, then repeat the process every two to four years. The signs are everywhere, but no one can see them.

Mr. Day is the well known radio commentor, "Ira from Rotterdam". Regular on Paul V's show.

Hugh's major accomplishments are the horrible Metrograft tax and record County sales taxes which hurt poor people the most. The way he will be taken out is in a REP Primary. What has started in Rotterdam will spread like widefire thoughout this District.

Dems, reps or cons ALL campaign on the platform of NO TAXES, CUT SPENDING! To that I say bullsh*t! That has been the sales pitch for the last 30 decades and our taxes and spending have continually gone up at an alarming rate!

The solution may be to vote for people who don't have the backing of a political party so that they aren't puppets of the party and can vote for what's best for the taxpayer.

The problem is that if you elected a Democrat, you get a puppet of the liberal leadership who only vote party line no matter what. ALWAYS!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
