Parisi made a circus out of this.  Reps got what they deserved and now he makes ALL Reps look unethical and without dignity.  Nope let ST go there and talk to himself.
YOU are talking unethical? When the reps just spoke the political incorrect TRUTH! You don't know what ethical is.

A Rotterdam campaign with mudslinging, WOW that's a first.  As if Bush's service in the Reserves wasn't mudslinging and him constantly accused of being stupid.  The manufactured outrage is killing me!  It was an all out assault on Tommasone and Republicans the last election.  Accusing them of nepotism, and somehow responsible for stealing gun handles.  For McGarry to follow the lead of the Democrats by not attending is doing himself and the residents of Rotterdam a disservice.  There is a tactful way of distancing yourself from the political mudslinging while answering questions that pertain to your stance on the issues.  There is tactful and polite ways to separate you from the other candidates without mudslinging.  Boycotting doesn't advance your message in any way.  Nor does it affect the Republicans in a negative way if you don't show up.

In a town like Rotterdam where politics is taken so personally, and the democrats don't want to show up for the fight speaks volumes of the Democrat party and the candidates.  The fact is, the Democrats have NO MESSAGE on the issues.  They are in hiding, hoping to win by being the default choice come Election Day.  Democrats need to grow a backbone and defend themselves and their candidate of the claims made by the Republicans.  If they don't, THEY will look like the COWARDS.

If mcgarry were not in this race and it was between fdg and s.t.....are you saying that fdg would be the better choice? Although I agree with you on the reps leadership, what party do you want to control IF mcgarry were not in this race?

BT ~ If it were between Ego and FDG ~ I would protest vote and not show up to the polls because the choice of candidates was so bad.  Sometimes NOT voting in the last 10 elections has more to do with the poor choice of candidates than it does about being apathetic.

Obama ~ although a complete disaster ~ got people to vote that never found a reason before.  Whether McGarry or FDG ever voted is completely irrelevant ~ they are participating now because things have gotten so bad that someone had to step up to the plate.

Ok....so are you saying that a dem rule, in ideology is better for rotterdam than a rep rule? Going back to the kirvin/constantino days are BETTER? What planet have you been living on?

And as far as not voting for over a decade is clearly not only because there were only poor choices. I mean come on....people have their taxes increased, like it's never happened before in history, and things are sooooooo bad that a 70 year old man who hasn't voted in over 10 years.....builds 14 structures on his property that he never paid taxes on....and all of a sudden....'things are so bad'?  Come on....people in rotterdam need to get a grip and expand their horizons beyond rotterdam.
The dems in control of NYS has brought us to one of the highest taxed states in the country. Where the hell is the outrage there? Why doesn't fdg run for a state elected position and see what he can do. These people in rotterdam are sooooo out of touch with reality and priorities.

Especially cartoon characters, people that haven't had a pulse in 10 years or more and people that would do anything to make a buck on the street, eh?

Glad you're admitting he's been a disaster.

What about the pond on the property? Hopefully this will be fully aired at the debate-NOT!

Don't allow ST to be a solo act-Brian McGarry needs to show up. He is only hurting himself by not participating. People need to see Brian McGarry on TV. A Rotterdam leader-head and shoulders better than the competition.

Do not let ST win a debate by default. Make ST run on his record, on his horrible appointments of Surprise and Stan "THE" MAN. If he debates a chair- the chair would win.

Big mistake not going. Big mistake. When there is a debate in Congress, it doesn't mean one side doesn't show up because the other side got nasty. How about when the guy from South Carolina said "LIAR!" ...did the Democrats boycott congress the next day???? WHAT THE HECK??? Debate and dissension and disagreement is an integral part of American politics. No American electorate ever expects one side to cede the field and go home during a fight. It has never happened even when one side is seeming hopelessly beaten or in a minority. Losing idea thought up by the same people who have been losing elections in Rotterdam for years.

Democrats have abandoned the field and called full retreat on the battleground of ideas. That looks like they have the thinnest skin, and nothing to back up their arguments that would bolster their case that they ARE qualified. Now if Frank and his team HAVE the stuff, they will go and whip butt. If Brian McGarry knows his issues he will go and carry the day. Boycotts are not smart because no electorate (especially in this town) puts their confidence in people who disappear when the heat turns on.

What will the slogan be on the next campaign flier?

"DON'T WORRY-WHEN THE JOB GETS TOUGH- WE'LL GO HIDE!"

"IF THEY HURT OUR FEELINGS, SO WE PLEDGE TO STAY AWAY FROM DOING YOUR BUSINESS AT TOWN HALL"

"STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK OUR BONES AND NAMES WILL REALLY HURT US"

"WE ARE LITERATE AND WE PROVED IT BY NOT DEBATING!"

"IF ROTTERDAM HAS A CRISIS, OUR TEAM WILL BOYCOTT IT, YOU CAN BE REST ASSURED!"

"WE WON'T STOOP TO THEIR LEVEL SO WE TOOK OUR TOYS OUT OF THE SANDBOX AND WENT HOME!"

"WE WOULD RATHER NOT DISCUSS THE ISSUES WITH PEOPLE THAT RUN OUR GOVERNMENT- THEY ARE MEANIES"

"NOBODY CARES ABOUT THOSE DEBATES ANYWAY"

" WE ARE SAD ONE OF THEM SAID A BAD THING. WE HAVE TO CANCEL THE ELECTION BECAUSE OF IT"

"WE HAVE OUR BUNKER READY IN CASE THEY CHALLENGE US IN THE FUTURE"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA COME ON!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

GB you are not talking about cranking up the heat.  This is about outright unethical behavior by your lead attorney.  What a moron!  If that is how HE acts because the Dems have turned the heat up on them can you imagine how he conducts business.  Please FDG and McGarry are right to boycott.  ST doesn't win by default he is the "fault."

I heard morale is VERY low at Town Hall.  ST out and take the Surprise package with you.

What is unethical about questioning a candidate about his ability to perform the job of the position he is running for?  A whole party is refusing to answer the publics questions at a non partisan "meet the candidates" forum.  This is a debate set up by the League of Women Voters.  Cal criticizes the Republicans for not going to the Senior Lifetime Achievment ceremony.  Yet it's ok for Democrats to boycott an event set up by the League of WOMEN Voters.  Is this a double standard?

I thought Republican leadership was bad.  Cooke is making an even bigger miscalculation.  McGarry better re-think his participation in this boycott.

I'mmmmm backkkkk.  Nice Cally Foria tan. Caught the Yankee game and a wicked cold.  BUT Catching up on the broohaha.  First things first.  Joe Signore ducked Jimmy Constantino request for debates back in 1998-99.  Why because the Republicans had a huge lead.  Check it you naysayers.  DelGallo and the dems are in the driver seat, McGarry will win crossover votes from disgruntled Mertz Republicans and the January 1,2010 organizational meeting will be a HOOT!

YIPPEE Cay Yeah MT,BT,Cissy, Filly et al.  WOW Did Tom and Gerry blow it or what.  Help me Cal what the frick happened?

Welcome back Puddy-we missed your unique "insights". This is nothing short of suicidal. Brian McGarry needs to be at this debate. He does not have thousands to mail all these crap pieces that Howdy Doody is sending out. For the front runner FDG to skip is no biggie. Let ST drone on like he does at every meeting but Brian is missing an opportunity to take it.

Every REP had been thrown under the bus to save failing ST. The poor County Leg candidates sound like ST staffers. The last REP County mailer was a disgrace. Making funny of seniors? These are the people that built this town. Did you hear about the REP "leader" in Nisky? He is running for County and went AWOL before the election-not after like most do. Another only in Schenectady County.

Another case of multiple personality disorder?

What about Brian BT don't you think he should make his case directly to the people? This making a statement by hiding ain't for me. One debate and you boycott it?
