Suhrada was doomed when he said he wasn't going to run for the county leg and was running for town board. That was the beginning of the end for him. IMHO

All this turmoil and chaos is not good for you, John.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I don't think turmoil and chaos are the correct words here. Perhaps cathartic?  And it really doesn't matter who is who as long as what we are reading is the truth.IMHO

What exactly are we dividing and conquering.....voters beware......our goal is that of fairness, value, truth and transparency and
certainly last but not least is getting the damn tax monkey off our backs......

who will deliver,,,,we must wade through the muck of tradition/friends/family and greed.......

It's ALWAYS ABOUT THE LEVY.......not the reval.......the 'fight' over the reval is about who has more or less and who is entitled or
not.......remove the tradition/friends/family/greed/covetousness etc........

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Mertz forgot what got him where he is today.  First of all, Ol' Johnny Boy got beat by Diane Marco in his first run for public office.  Big vote getter my arse!  He eventually won because he rode the wave of the post 2001 pro Bush/Guiliani republican tsunami.  Same goes for Suhrada, et al.  Secondly, Mertz mooched off his in-laws for 8 -9 years by never ever paying a property tax!  Builds a big house and then realizes that the mooching days are over and he tries to deep six an effort by John Paolino's admin for people to pay their fare share in taxes.  He blows smoke about a "bogus" revaluation because the gravy has dried up on his train to Xanadu.

A true carpetbagger who has the uncontrollable urge to piss people off, swings a steely axe and scorches the earth with viritol rhetoric.  He overstayed his welcome with Pataki, Tedisco, Rotterdam Republicans, Rotterdam employees and by November, Town residents.  Johnny Boy move back to Adams Street and keep your mouth shut.

YOU OWE IT THEM!!!!!!!

Yes tweety wins but I keep trying LOL  Mr Mertz has pissed off anyone who meets him sooner or later.  Parisi, Tomassone, Buchanan, Tedisco, Pataki, Rotterdam cops, his neighbors, town employees, Paolino, Tonko, Vellano, Signore, Della Villa, his doctor, his shrink, his wife, his kids, his in-laws, his pets, Amedore, Angelo, Marco, Eunice, Vito Caruso, county conservatives to name a few.

Can I stop or you want me to keep going?  There are more.

How? Why do they get pissed off? Why do they let him push their buttons? I dont know all those folks. Some of the names are
familiar(I grew up in Rotterdam),,,,,but, not a one of them has had Thanksgiving dinner at my house and I have never had
sunday dinner at their homes.....

Soooooo,,,,I really need a good outline and explanation other than who knows whom and who is married to whom etc etc......

All those names would make for a great reality show....."Big Rotterdam Brother/Sister"????

Sounds like he pissed off all the people who entered Rottedam Politics for their personal benefit.  Half the people you mentioned didn't work a job in the private sector in their lives.  The majority you mention are lifetime politicians and government workers, cops, and friends of cops.  And the Republican Chair who also makes money on behalf of the taxpayer.  Then you've got Holly Vellano who joins whatever party she believes will get her elected.  She has no integrity or convictions, and changes with the political winds.  One thing you can say about Mertz, you know where he stands ideologically.  The rest will morph into whatever will put them into a position to line their pockets with tax dollars in one form or another.

Mertz pissed off the Rotterdam status quo.  Somebody had to do it, and now he's gaining more and more populist support.

Now even I have to argue with the idea that he mooched off his in-laws and didn't pay property taxes, and was a "carpetbagger." Anybody that lives above their in-laws in Rotterdam is not going to lose votes for doing so(and may even get sainted in some instances), and in some sense the only folks here who aren't carpetbaggers are the Haudenosaunees and Hillary Clinton. Puddy, you are being cartoonish today!

First....my kids lived with me while they were having their home built. I am insulted to think that someone would look upon them as moochers. >

Second...all I can say is 'oh well, guess they(the names above) won't be voting for Mertz'. No big whoop there!! Trust me on this one....Mertz has many many supporters than anyone can imagine! How does anyone think Tommasone got elected the first time.....on Mertz's coat tails. Everyone knew that!

This is GREAT!  I told you these guys would rip each other apart.   It's hard to argue with either Puddy(welcome to the blog Tom, just curious where's WILLIAM/Parisi?) or GB on these latest posts.  Dems, just sit back and relax.  Don't go negative, the residents can't stand it!  Take the high road and let these guys pummel each other.

The post on another thread, by the TU, about who is running, mentions that Mertz had a press notice of some sort?  Can anyone get their hands on it?  I do actually like that Surhada posted his.

GB ~ Think the Repubs will survive this?
