You must be kidding me. This entire thread has 'facts' running all through it on why fdg should NOT be supervisor of rotterdam......He can't read, write or allowed to speak. He hasn't voted in over a decade. He has deliberately avoided paying taxes, (for how many years?), on additions to his property. He's in an identity crisis like HV....just registered a con? Will not or isn't allowed to take part in an election year debate. (something to hide?) .....just to name a few.

BUT he has money and the italians will vote for him.....OMG!

The people in this town are nutsier than I could have ever imagined.

Mcgarry is the ONLY really viable candidate out there.....

Bumble are YOU KIDDING ME? " He cant read write or speak?" Thats completely ridiculous and you should be ashamed of yourself for bashing someone whom you dont know anything about. While he may not be the most articulate man I can sure you,he can "read write and speak" and function as a normal human being. wow.
He has more skill in his pinky finger than most people have in their whole body.

Oh and avoided paying taxes? What? Where did you get that idea? show me. And why dont you stop worrying about his property WIERDO. Maybe if you got off your a** and shut down the computer... one day you might be able to have nice things too.

Live lavishly???  I would buy tickets to see any of you do the type fo physcial work he does each day.  ST would faint just watching.  It is amazing how bitter you are as a group toward someone who has picked himself up by his boot straps and become a success.  Like I said before, there are no gaps in FDG's resume.  I dare say that isn't true for Ego, Buchanan and others.  LOL

The question that everyone is apparently avoiding, which I believe is a fair question, is, was fdg aware that he was under assessed for the past decade or two?  And does he believe it was HIS responsibility or the ASSESSOR'S responsibility to correct his under assessment on his 14 new structures on his property? Or did he just not know how the process works? Although I find that hard to believe. My pool installer would not put it in until I had a permit from the town. In fact myself and others have have work done at our homes by various contractors. They refused to do the work until there was a legal legit town permit.

I'm sure that everyone would agree that since he is running for supervisor, this is a fair question that should be answered before anyone flips that lever. And this question needs to be answered by HIM. Not some anonymous poster on this board. I am planning to ask him this question at the LWV Meet The Candidates or perhaps the gazette could look into.

As far as his ability to read or write or speak....that issue was brought up by many people when they first heard he was running. I'm not the only one, believe me, who questioned his qualifications.

Quoted from CICERO:
Brian McGrarry is unique in that he has experience and relationships with both private businessmen/women and public employees.  Brian is a public school teacher, as well as owner operator of a successful photography business.  So who best to understand the governments role in balancing the needs of private business and public services.  He's intelligent and articulate.  Unlike multi millionaire Fran DelGallo who said the reason he's running for Town Supervisor is because he needs a second job to pay his taxes to maintain his lavish lifestyle. - Brian McGarry always worked a two jobs and understands that when times get tough, you must sacrifice financially to get through those tough times, and he expects the government to do the same.

Brian McGarry represents the average Rotterdam resident.  He's not an angry millionaire looking to help himself and his friends like decades before. He's not looking to hire his party bosses as as town attorneys.  Brian has gone door to door, listening to the residents concerns.  He's looking to make common sense decisions for the sake of everybody in the town.

For real POSITIVE change.  Vote Row F on November 3rd.

The above post by Cicero sums up the race for supervisor succinctly.  Rotterdam residents need to vote for the candidates who will best serve the town.   Brian and his team are the ONLY choice.  Vote Row F NNTP!

Nobody's saying he's not deserving of nice things, and he does work hard.  Nobody's disputing that.  But now he has decided to run for public office.  He's gonna get questioned.  Now...There are 14 new structures that just got put on the tax roll in 2008.  I think to put the issue to rest, all Mr. DelGallo has to do is go to the Town Hall and pull up the building permits for all of those structures that were built in 2008 and tell all of us that are questioning him to stick it where the sun don't shine.  I have no problem eating crow.

You all are saying he doesn't deserve anything.  You guys are running scared.  He doesn't need to put anything to rest.  ST can't even run on his record.  That's a problem.

You people act is if you have just discovered the lost ark.  Get off his property and his back.  And stop accusing him of being illiterate.  I guarantee his accounting skills can't be matched and he hasn't become this successful because he can't read.  And all of Wall Street can read and write and compute and speak legalese and they have thrown this country into a depression.  FDG should be admired not criticized by a bunch of  chumps.  You are a bunch of amateurs.

McGarry nice boy--no name recognition.  EVERYBODY knows FDG and LIKES him.  I don't care what
he has on his property.  Why not closely question ST about what he hasn't been doing since he got into office.  Then start asking his partners the same thing.  You'll be eating something it just won't
be crow.

Steve's record is public record.  I know what I am getting with Steve T.  Do I like it?  I guess that depends on the alternative.  FDG is virtually an unknown entity.  The few things I do know about him, I'm not impressed.  When comparing him to the other two candidates - I rank him last.  Why you ask?  Because he admittedly has no plan or public positions to address the towns issue.  Instead he give some meaningless analogy about a car breaking down on the side of the road.  At least Brian McGarry has taken a position on the most recent issue facing the town, the REMS.  Does anybody know what FDG's position is on REMS?  I know FDG didn't like his property tax bill.  What does he propose to do to change it?  You say FDG's businessman, we'll put it in terms he may understand.  There are two things that effect a budget -  revenue and expenses. Which is FDG going to increase or decrease to balance the budget and lower the tax rate?

Get the muzzle off of FDG.  Let him field some questions so the residents know who they are voting for.  I don't think people are going to vote for the guy with the strange lawn ornaments.

Yeah put the muzzle on Gerard Parisi.  His denigrating remarks about FDG has put ST and Co. further behind.  For that I thank him.

With the Democrats running the empty suit,,,ehem,,,I mean empty Dickies Delgallo, and the Rotterdam Republican Party imploding.  The political climate is shaping up to be a perfect opportunity for a 3rd party like the NNTP to make some headway.  I think the residents are finally fed up with our version of the Hatfields and McCoys.  These guys running on the NNTP are out working both parties, with class and the right message.  O'Connor already proved it during the primaries.  So continue to make this a two man race.  But I think people will be surprised come November 4th.

No stay a blank. That makes more sense? lol.

Didn't hear Fran is gonna switch to CONS after victory? That will give the CONS supervisor, one town board member and 2 County Legislators.  All from Rotterdam/Hilltowns!

Gee benny what would you say if son of sam added 14 structures to his property and never took the responsibility to report them or get permits? Would you fault sos or the assessor?

What if sos owned property valued at $X amount of dollars, but for decades, paid only have it's value? Would you be supporting him then?

And what if sos was a pool installer, categorizing him as a 'successful businessman'? Would ya support him then?

So what time is the League or Women Voters forum and where? It promises to be an interesting forum because with all the newcomers running we can see what they are made of in the public speaking and ideas arena!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
