Most seasoned residents of Rotterdam know the rumors how many of Rotterdam's wealthy contractors, builders, and property owners made much of their money through south mall projects for services never provided as well as tools and equipment being hauled right off of south mall job sites.  These rumors and allegations have been flying around Rotterdam for decades.  The problem is, there is no paper trail that directly links a single person to these allegations.   So until then they are all rumors.

When I was doing some work at the South Mall during it's construction I personally saw a full truck load of lumber enter one gate get a paper stamped and drive out the other gate to parts unknown. This happened with many different truck loads of material also so there were a lot of people involved in that scheme of getting free material from we the taxpayer. There never was a paper trail, the material was labeled as defective and then simply disappeared and another order was placed. Many South Mall workers spent much of their time at the Eagle Bar during work hours and it was done on a rotating basis so everyone got a chance to participate. No one should wonder why the South Mall was built way over budget. It's no different than what is happening right now with the stimulus money. Our government in action.

What a load. "The Mayor" sounds like a typical public employees nobody. Del Gallo in a landslide.
Benny....mary is correct in part. We all know, or should know, that fdg has no plan and is not capable of running a TOWN!!! We all know that he would NOT be the best choice for Rotterdam. benny.....believe me....it will be the county leg and city council all over again. Do you want that for rotterdam.

As far as the south mall BS, shadow is correct. It was a scam! And there apparently isn't a paper trail. Now if Mary can produce some sound hard facts about that, s/he's got her/himself a case to present to the public.

The rest ...... well we know that fdg will be a puppet. And if elected, it will be 'good old rotterdam' all over again. Run by the good old boys club. That mary is a no brainer. All you did was supply a name and face to the obvious.

What part is correct-that there was graft at the South Mall? Yesterday's news.

I agree that Brian McGarry is by far the best choice. Where we disagree is on change. I don't see FDG as another SS. No successful businessman is that bad. NOTHING will change for this town, for the horrible current one party system, if Steve is re-elected.

By the way hope to see all bloggers at the Thursday night Mallozzi's NNTP bash. Be there or be square.

]I agree with the south mall, no paper trail, scam fiasco....that is a dead end....no proof.

On the other hand, I still find it very hard to think that YOU, can't see the forest through the dem trees!!!! Come on benny, you appeared to be much smarter and informed than you are posting now.

Like I posted before, Mcgarry and all of the NNTP candidates, 'only' will get my vote. However, IF and I say IF, the race was just between S.T. and fdg.........it would clearly be s.t. that would get my vote. And I believe he'd win surely over fdg. It's mcgarry that they both have to watch out for! IMHO

so obviously you need a picture painted for you....
BC is the money holder for the revitalizerotterdam, works for the education/budget dept of the state and is in good with Tonko.
FDG helped build the south mall (and got rich doing it).  FDG doesn't need a plan, he has BC pulling the strings for him.  So what you say.  This is what the Democrats are hoping to vote in.  FDG is unable to run the town of Rotterdam.  Bottom line.

That is as weak as it gets...

I am not following it to well.

I did read that guys "My Space" page (which I thought was for teenage girls) and I got the greatest kick from him whining like a little b*tch about working 13 days straight as if it was a hard labor sentence. What a puss. Try working 6 months without a day off. Now I am not complaining because my 6 months without a day off was done while living in peacetime conditions in the richest country in the world, good clothes, shoes, socks on my feet, with a warm bed to come home to and heat, plenty of food and water. All things our forefathers and pioneers didn't have, and all things the troops overseas don't have, so I was lucky that on occasions I have worked that many days in a row, and many shorter stints of 45 or 50 days in a row, 10-12 hours per day. I guess being a political hack is tough for some people and the teet they suck on gets tiring...But ultimately that is what makes me able to cope, go out each day and do what I do without being the pantywaist that guy is.

If DelGallo knew what a pansy boy he had handling his money, he might recoil in disgust. But that is what happens when you jump into beds with sissy staffers for the most liberal congressman in upstate history.

God, I read that again to be sure I wasn't too hard on this guy. I wasn't hard enough. He never had a job in his life. How sad we have a state full of teet-sucklers like that draining the taxpayers dry. God help our nation is this is the cream of the twenty-somethings...he sounds like another Schumer in the making. He will have legislation making Rotterdam a sanctuary town for illegals, will outlaw toy guns, and will require nutritional labeling for little girls' lemonade stands....Will probably be appointed our deputy supervisor if Del Gallo gets in. Oh God...

Other than looking like a gangster, what's the problem?

Nikki DeLeva - wasn't she the psychic or the driving instructor?

You seem to find fault with everything ... at least he's doing business with a local vendor instead of sending $ for design and hosting outside the area, huh? Maybe it's a work in progress? Maybe you should stop looking for the negative in everything and look toward positive aspects.

Lest you live in a glass house ...
