Not only that, McGArry is related to Holly Vellano and Katie O'Connor if I am not mistaken.

And your point is? Come on GB, ya gotta do one better than that. EVERYONE is related or great friends with SOMEONE in this town!

Sal....Holly who? The dem holly, the rep holly or the con holly? Or is it the holly that helped lower taxes with dago, while she wasn't even in any elected position, when these tax breaks supposedly graced the taxpayers? Being related to mcgarry could only be a PLUS for h.v.. IMHO

We are waiting for this link. Cause I'd guess that I know what you are referring to, but it is no where on the net that I'm aware of. Honestly, I don't see how it could be.

Cause it doesn't exist? He wants a continuation of Steve's failed administration. For obvious reasons.

I could not log on last night otherwise, here it is.

There are 328 cubic feet of records, the Corning Papers - are an estimated 900,000 documents weighing five tons.

BTW it isn't in the seven secret boxes.

You said you had "proof" - the proof is in the pudding (heh) ... not a random list of historical boxes.  What specifically are you referring to?

Mr. Tonko could be one of those unitemized along with the one who calls himself "The Mayor".

Thank you, State of New York
Current mood:   annoyed
I just want to thank the State of New York, and work generally, for doing an excellent job of ruining my social life.  Over the years, I've missed a number of parties, including Halloween for two consecutive years at one point, and a whole host of other events because I had to be somewhere or had to work.  Then there's all the other missed opportunities to hang out with friends, and the dates I've had to cancel because of work.

I had hoped that the change in job situation would make things better, and to some extent they have.  However, this summer I had two big events planned: Tom's bachelor party and Steve's wedding in Tampa.  On Thursday, Civil Service announced the Grade 27 promotional exam, consisting of three parts.  1) the T&E, which is like a take home test, for the month of August, 2) part 1 of a written exam, scheduled for the bachelor party weekend, and 3) part 2 of the written exam, scheduled for the weekend of Steve's wedding.

Thank you, State of New York, for making my life just that much harder to plan around and enjoy.

     An Exhausted and Angry BC
My last two weeks have been BRUTAL.  Today was the 12th straight day of work for me, and it looks like at the absolute VERY least I will not have a day off until Saturday the 27th.  But that will depend on what's left to be done for Jan. 31st, when the Budget comes out.  Here are my hours the last two weeks (time worked does not equal exact hours-my lunch break is taken out of those numbers, though that's only because by law I have to show a lunch break, even though most days I took 5 minutes to run to the deli and get a sandwich to eat at my desk as I worked.)  Of course, none of this includes my 2 hour roundtrip commute or any time that I put in working on town and county business or meetings.

Since my salary is public information, I'm going to go ahead and do that math for you to show you just how pissed off this has made me.

Rat in a cage Part Deux
Last week I made an entry about being busy and how much I hated it, blah, blah, blah. I thought today Id take a few minutes to actually outline whats been going on, and what is upcoming thats driving me nuts.

Monday, June 5: Meeting with Congressman McNulty. Stop in Rotterdam after work to pick up Ferrara graduation information. County Board Finance Committee meeting in Fonda after work.

Tuesday, June 6: Meeting before work with Gary McCarthy, Doug Forand, and Brian Quail. County Board Finance Committee meeting in Fonda after work.

Wednesday, June 7: County Board Finance Committee meeting in Fonda after work. Also Town Planning Board Meeting in Root, County meeting wins out though.

Thursday, June 8: County Board Finance Committee meeting in Fonda after work.
Skipping that to go to DOB Awards Ceremony at Governors Mansion. Then meet Gary McCarthy in Amsterdam at 8:30 for a meeting.

Sunday, June 11: Tonko fundraiser in Rotterdam, 11:30 am. Dance practice, across the street, 1pm-2:30pm. Door-to-door voter registration with Gary in Amsterdam, 3pm-6:30pm. Campaign meeting in Scheenctady, 7pm-8:30pm

The Dream is over, the race has ended
This has been the case for quite some time, but I didn't really want to make anything official until I had the meeting that I did today.  I am withdrawing from the Senate race this year in support of Gary McCarthy, a Schenectady City Councilman.  Thank you all for your support, and I will certainly keep your desire to assist in mind the next time that something like this comes up, because we all know it will happen

Below is a cleaned up live journal entry:

Anyway, there are two exceptions to this rule. The first is my
nickname of "Mayor". I view this more as a term of endearment rather
than a title. Indeed, I am not actually a Mayor, so it is not, in its
own right, my title. Plus, when you hang out with me, there's nothing
better than hearing someone say "f’n' Mayor" when I do something
that either pisses them off or beats them in some competition (the
former typically accompanies the latter). The other situation, as I
have told many people by this time, is my forever permenant title of
"The Honorable". For those that do not know, anyone who has been
elected to any public office inherits the title "The Honorable First
name Last name". The best part about it is that the title remains
forever, no matter what happens to the office holder. For whatever
reason, this is one title that I haven't minded, though people haven't
really taken to calling me "The Honorable", it just shows up in
correspondance.

so obviously you need a picture painted for you....

BC is the money holder for the revitalizerotterdam, works for the education/budget dept of the state and is in good with Tonko.
FDG helped build the south mall (and got rich doing it).  FDG doesn't need a plan, he has BC pulling the strings for him.  So what
you say.  This is what the Democrats are hoping to vote in.  FDG is unable to run the town of Rotterdam.  Bottom line.

What a load. "The Mayor" sounds like a typical public employees nobody. Del Gallo in a landslide.
