Bruce Springsteen Is Coming to SPAC!

    {TU} The Boss and his E Street Band will return to the Capital District with a Tuesday Aug. 25, concert at SPAC. They played a sold out show at the TUC on May 14th.

Tickets go on sale this Thursday!

You know, I have a different set of rockstars. They are all about 83 or 84 (the ones still here) and they wore the same outfits as each other, and had similar haircuts, and the only screaming they did was at places like Anzio, Iwo, Normany, Bastogne, and Midway. They danced, but to Harry James and Count Basie, and Tommy Dorsey. Then they came home, didn't attract much attention to themselves, raised us, paid their taxes and saluted the flag. Many of them are in graveyards now, and they don't sign autographs, nor do they ride limosines, mostly Chevies and Buicks.

So, no offense, but Bruce Spigsteen and Billy Joel really don't mean that much to me anymore since they are mostly second rate heroes with big mouths and bad attitudes about the country that let them freely act like fools in front of large audiences while being high on their drugs. It was because of my rockstars they can do that. So when we are spending our money to see these millionaires who like to run down our country and our system, and complain about how unfair it all is to the "little guy," think about my rockstars for a few minutes and remember them. To each his own, and I mean no offense to you all who enjoy them for what they are (because I do too sometimes), just remember who's hands you should rush to shake, and who's autograph you really should be getting, and who you should be thanking for making your life pleasurable the next time you see them.

Honestly, I have never seen 'the boss' and don't intend to. I love music, but was never really a fan of Springstieen. ALTHOUGH....they say he gives quite the show! Many of my friends go to all of his concerts and come back the next day with no voice from all of the singing and screaming they do!

As far as their stand on this county/government, entertainers are not my plum line for life or how I feel about my country or government. I really could care less. Actually, it just makes my beliefs stronger. Sure they use the 'stage' for their own personal agendas....but so do our government officials.

The truth is that the average American does not feel that they have a voice any longer. Couple that with all of the political correctness being jammed down our throats, people welcome and embrace the voices that are on stage, behind a pulpit, swinging a bat, throwing a footbal, in front of the flag, on TV or on the big screen. If it matches their ideology, they are on board with that person or group. Only then do they feel validated!

Government abandoned all of us a long time ago!!

Well you are correct that government abandoned us a long time ago. But a healthy distrust for our government is what the nation is founded on. Entertainers generally like to point out how bad America is to everyone and want the government to grow bigger in the name of providing for us. we can't exclusively rely on the government, of that I am certain, and should we surrender more liberties to them, we do so at the detriment of our own future, for we all be slaves to them in the long run. Our country itself? I still believe in the goodness of it, the flag, the constitution and what it represents. America's people are what makes America, not it's government.

I respect, admire and share your red, white and blue feelings of this country. But let's remember that these American people that you speak of that makes America, are the same sheople that WANTS to be taken care of by their government.

Ya see, they have that red, white and blue feeling toward their country too. And that is why they welcome the governments intervention in their lives!  Our present government has already put private corporate industry in a bad light. And perhaps deservingly so with some. But the government never ever takes any responsibility in their part in the failed road this country is heading.

The government, Barney Frank and company were more than instrumental in this whole financial mess we are in!! You say that it is America's people that make America.....just when do they, if they choose too, get that chance?
