SCHENECTADY - Two residents of Schenectady County have suspected cases of swine flu.
Glynnis Hunt, spokeswoman for the Schenectady County Health Department, said two samples from individuals have been sent to the state Department of Health's Wadsworth lab to confirm if it is the new strain of influenza that has public health officials on alert.
Hunt would not reveal any details about the individuals or why it is suspected they have the illness, referring all questions to the state Health Department.
Jeffrey Hammond, spokesman for the state Health Department, said information about suspected cases in other New York counties will be revealed at a press conference at noon today.
