Robb Clemons [Feb. 18 letter] attempts to rewrites history when he compares Chairwoman Susan Savage to former Chairman Robert Farley, and asserts that Jim Buhrmaster should be the "nonpartisan" successor in the Assembly to Mr. Tedisco. Since January 2004, when Ms. Savage became chairwoman of the Legislature, Schenectady County has undergone an economic revitalization unprecedented in the past 40 years. She recruited Ray Gillen to head a new county Department of Economic Development and Planning, and to chair Metroplex. The results are stunning — over 3,000 new jobs and over $300 million in new investment. Contrast this progress with the Republican battle between Mr. Farley, Mayor [Al] Jurczynski and [former Schenectady Economic Development Corporation head] George Robertson on one side and [former county legislator] Peter Guidarelli and his allies on the other — when little was accomplished and much harm was done. The essential point is this: Susan Savage has accomplished a great deal more than Mr. Farley and Mr. Burhmaster combined — a revitalized downtown, reinvigorated industrial parks in Rotterdam and Glenville, and most importantly a renewed sense of pride in our county. I hope that Susan Savage continues this good work and that Schenectady County continues its progress

Of course suzie has a list of accomplishments(?). And of course suzie has done more to revitalize(?). But let me remind everyone, that every so called accomplishments/revitalizations have been tax and spend. Remember Kosiur's created patronage job at $80K + benefits...for life? Remember the 9% tax increase imposed on us, the taxpayers.

3,000 NEW JOBS? According to Metrografts figures its 700 in and OUT of County. Revitalized Glenville Center? You mean where Super Steel is closing with throwing 166 Union workers out of work.
She recruited Death Ray? No planning credentials, another Krat lob, who has wasted over $70,000,000 in tax money and still can't open Big Hose Gin Mill. Forgetting all about the Library debacle, the SCCC Music Relocation fiasco, patronage stuffing and record County property tax increase in a recession. Sue "The" Savage should be sent back home. Only this County would elect her dog catcher.
By the way Sidewalk Bob why didn't you disclose your employer? Right yet another Krat patronage hire.
Suzie accomplished to provide $140,000 + benefits in 2 jobs while the county faced an $8-$16Million dollar shortage. (which resulted in a 9% tax increase) Kosiur’s $80,000 position as special assistant to the commissioner and Joe McQueen’s $60,000 position as director of communications.
Both positions were controversial. Kosiur’s was because dems rewrote the job specifications of youth bureau director for Kosiur and removed its Civil Service protection to put Kosiur, a former dem county legislator, in the job. He got the job after he lost miserably in a landslide race he lost to Amedore (a home builder) as assemblyman for the 105th District.
McQueen’s position is controversial because the dems hired him with a hiring freeze in place. And union officials were pi**ed and said other positions should have been filled first. He also was the chairman of the Glenville Democratic Committee.

Good BT, but you think Sue "THE" Savage only had 2 patronage hires? lol! What about the absurd "special events" person and Sidewalk Bob himself? We could go on all day....She's done alot to reward friends and serve up the County taxpayers.
Susan has merely done what they ALL do............. Hire and protect by party affiliation Dems...Reps...........it doesn't matter Gang mentality.............. To deny it or ignore it is to feed it. All who read or post, MUST, Accept it.......... To denegrate them, when we do the same? Shameful To not acknowledge the reality? Reprehensible To continue? Laughable.
