You've GOT to be kidding me ... Holly "Yes Mr Supervisor" Vellano??  I wonder if her husbands financial dealings will be elaborated on during the election.

I happen to like Vellano. Although I am not surprised that the dems would endorse her. I don't remember the story right now, but I think she was screwed over by the reps a few years back. I always found Vellano to speak her 'own' mind. And I don't know anything about any financial anythings about her husband. But if there is anything to be found out, you can bet it will be. Let the MUD SLINGING begin!!!

You know I like her too, but if I recall she dropped out after not getting the conservative line in the race, then her place was filled by Carolina Lizzardi who appeared to look like Ross Perot after dropping out, dropping back on in!

Wasn't that a back door deal by Buchannan, or something like that back then? I really don't remember the whole story. I just remember bits and pieces of it. I thought Buchannan promised her the conserv line but at the last minute he made another deal. Or something like that.

I was never under the impression Buchanan had the power to offer anyone the conservative line since he is not a member of that party let alone it's chairman.

Ok, you can forget the republicans endorsing one of our conservatives (Viscusi is not one of ours) – but there will be three real conservatives running:  two retired RPD officers and one party official.  They will all get the Dem endorsement and the conservative line and maybe independent lines.  By the way, don’t think that we forgot who tryed to take us out, all bets are off and it’s the perfect storm as the republicans take each other out.  Remember, loyalties change every five minutes and Rotterdam will be in for shocker when the Dems announce their supervisor candidate and even more shocked when the conservative party endorses him.  End result, next years board will have two conservatives, one democrat, one republican and one former republican turned independent!  Oh, and when the one current republican not up for reelection resigns they will replace him with another - you guessed it - Conservative!  Conservatives will be calling the shots and remember20this politics make strange bedfellows.

You conservs are a lot dumber than most thought. First, the way I understood it, no one was trying to 'take down' the present conservparty the way some think. It was nothing more or nothing less than bringing the party back to its original ideology. which it obviously does not have right now.

Second, the present conserv party is doing nothing more than prostituting itself to the dems. The dems are using the conserv party...plain and simple. And the conservs are so blinded with power and greed, that they can't even see it!!!!!! The dems will eat the conservsup and spit them out when the time is right. The conservs ain't seen nothin' yet!!!

It's a very very sorry state of affairs when political manipulation is in the forefront OVER AND ABOVE the benefits of the taxpayers!!!
You should ALL be ashamed!!! IMHO

RPD is attempting to stack the deck to make sure they can continue to ride that gravy train.  I'm not so sure for how much longer we can continue to pay our chief $140K to manage 45 officers in this current economy.  RPD is no longer satisfied playing politics through the Conservative Party proxy, now they are attempting to run their own to hold office.  I believe the residents will see this move as overstepping, and an unpopular consolidation of power.  But time will tell.

Niskayuna has a higher median income among their town residents, and they don't pay their chief as much as Rotterdam.  Rotterdam Police do a great job, but can we get the same great service for less??  I believe so.

You make assumptions as to what line of work I am in.  For all you know, I could be affiliated with the RPD, Sheriff, or State Police, maybe even Military, or a combination of two.   You can be sure that I'm not a registered Schenectady County Conservative.
