If NYC can do it, why can't we? Granted, the city/county already has an extremely high tax base (which likely won't change) and an extremely LOW level of service, but it's time to trim the pork from both city and county administrations.

Thousands of New York City teachers could lose their jobs if proposed state budget cuts get passed.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg will break the bad news Friday when he announces his grim new budget plan. The deep reductions would be on top of 3,000 job cuts Bloomberg announced in November. Of the 20,000 jobs now at risk, 15,000 belong to teachers and school employees, according to administration officials.
