Hey, just thinking about this ... Didn't Obama promise to close Gitmo .. yet, it seems it's still open.

Another "lie" (disguised as a campaign promise) ?

The dem party is a very well oiled rhetorical propaganda machine. They know the catch phrases and what 'emotion button'to press to get the votes. And the sheople fall for it every single time!

In the case of gitmo...........OBAMA = BUSH!!

Feinstein commissions report on housing Gitmo detainees in US, calls it viable optionBy Catherine Herridge
Published November 28, 2012
FoxNews.com

Gitmo detainees headed to the US?The Democratic chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence committee commissioned a federal report to identify prison facilities in the U.S. that are suitable for housing Guantanamo detainees, concluding the option is viable -- despite congressional opposition to such a plan when the Obama administration proposed it.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein's renewed interest in the proposal first came to light Wednesday after Fox News turned up an internal Government Accountability Office document that refers to “Source of Work: Ms. Dianne Feinstein, Chair, Select Committee on Intelligence, U.S. Senate” and lists the “Gist of Work” as an investigation into whether domestic facilities could house the approximately 170 detainees remaining at the controversial facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Two hours after Fox News' inquiry about the report, Feinstein's office posted the report online and released a statement confirming that the California senator thinks the Obama administration's controversial plan to relocate detainees to the United States is a viable option.

“This report demonstrates that if the political will exists, we could finally close Guantanamo without imperiling our national security,” Feinstein said. “The GAO report makes clear that numerous prisons exist inside the United States -- operated by both the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice—capable of holding the 166 detainees who remain at Guantanamo in an environment that meets the security requirements.”

Past discussion of moving the detainees stateside sparked a firewall of bipartisan opposition in Congress, which passed a measure barring that move.

The internal GAO document reviewed by Fox News noted the president’s executive order of January 2009, in which he promised to close the detention camps there within a year, and it referenced “legal prohibitions” that currently bar the transfer of detainees to the U.S. But the document also stated that Congress has continued to raise questions about whether civilian or military facilities in the United Sates could house the men.............................>>>>.........................>>>>.......................................Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politic.....in-us/#ixzz2DiLvuicu

Guantanamo Bay - President Obama's shame: The forgotten prisoners of America's own Gulag
No charge, but no release. Yesterday the anger of hunger-striking detainees boiled over in clashes with their jailers

RUPERT CORNWELL   WASHINGTON  SUNDAY 14 APRIL 2013

For long periods we forget it, even though it is a human rights disgrace surely unequalled in recent American history. But now, 11 years after it opened, the prison for suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay is demanding our attention once again, thanks to the largest hunger strike by detainees in its infamous history. Al-Qa'ida has been decimated; America's war in Iraq is over and the one in Afghanistan soon will be. But the scandal of Guantanamo endures.

I think you should get Cicero and senders (and maybe L4L) and go plan a rescue mission to free these illegally captured freedom fighters and return them to their peace loving, theocratic, Islamic nation of their origin.

Nah...I say relocate Gitmo to America's allies in Isreal.  The "terrorist" don't hate us because of our military support of Zionism but because they "hate our freedom".  Since our allies in Israel didn't send troops to help in Iraq and Afghanistan, the least they could do is house the prisoners.

Yes, because housing Islamic terrorists in a nation they hate even more than us is a smart idea. As far as sending troops to help us in Iraq and Afghanistan? Well, only a clueless and ignorant person as yourself would wonder why.

They're going to hate Israel regardless so why not get something back for those billions in aid we send them.

100 Guantanamo Hunger Strikers Recognized By U.S. Military
Posted: 04/27/2013 10:27 am EDT

WASHINGTON -- The number of hunger strikers being tracked by the United States military at its Guantanamo Bay prison hit 100 on Saturday, two weeks after a raid forced detainees living in a communal facility into individual cells.

Twenty of the detainees are being force-fed and five of them are in the hospital, Lt. Col. Sam House said in an email from Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, where the detainees are being held. None of them are in life-threatening condition, he said.

The military had tracked only 43 detainees as hunger strikers before the April 13 raid of Camp Six, a communal facility. House told The Huffington Post on Friday that all of the detainees who were added to the list were hunger striking before the raid "but could not be observed or placed under medical care because they had covered or broken the cameras" in their cells.

A Muslim cultural adviser in Guantanamo told reporters last week that one or more of the detainees would die before the hunger strike ended........................>>>>.....................>>>>..................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/27/guantanamo-hunger-strikers_n_3169596.html
