TU misspells Obama’s name

ALBANY, N.Y. -- A misspelling in the Times Union has got people talking.

Remember the absentee ballots in Rensselaer County that showed Barack Obama's last name spelled as "Osama?" Well now, the Times Union has made the same mistake in Thursday’s paper. They refer to the President-elect as “Barack Osama” in a story about finding an anthrax antidote.

TU Editor Rex Smith broke it down to simple human error. A typographical one to begin with, and two editors not catching the mistake. Smith says the gaffe is a regrettable and is embarrassed by it. Smith also said to look for an article by one of those editors, addressing the Obama misspelling in Friday’s edition of the paper.

Interesting to note, the Times Union listed the Rensselaer County Absentee Ballot Obama-Osama misprint as one the papers top 10 stories of 2008.

I do remember the idiotic people going berzerkers over the same spelling last fall at the Troy board of election! they were saying it was Joe Bruno or something like that. Sal fits in with these whackadoos.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
