Great job, if you have the right name for it
After speaking to some of my people, I want everyone to know that I am interested in filling Sen. Clinton’s soon-tobe vacated seat in the U.S. Senate. My wife just shouted at me from another room, “Go for it, you’ll avoid all that campaigning silliness and best of all, you’ll be an incumbent. They stay in office forever, and later, our boys can take your place.” I checked our calendar and counted off the remaining years. One of our sons is still a high school senior, while the other one is in his second year of college. I’ve got the time to build up my “name recognition” that the media considers all important — more important than experience, I suppose. In a few years, the “Schnackenberg” name will be as familiar as the rest of our political royal families — the Clintons, Bushes, Cuomos, and oh, right, the Kennedys. I am respectfully requesting the voting public to make a quick decision to get me on the ballot. I will need to hear from everyone soon, time is of the essence. I want you all to know that I sent a registered letter to Oslo, Norway, in care of the Nobel Prize committee, informing them of my “interest” in receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, or whatever else they’ve got handy. That’s just in case I don’t get picked for the Senate seat. After being reminded that [because] I operated a business years ago, had to hire folks and meet a payroll, I was unqualified to run for public office and feed at the public trough. It was worth a shot, and I enjoyed reaching out to all of my potential supporters.
