she is the best and how in the world can you mention surhad? he is a taxer and caused the people in the county untold troubles by being an obstructionist and tipping the apple cart down at the county hall when Judy and them wanted to rebuild the downtown and cut the waste and help rotterdam over there. Also Tedisc' is not the man for the job since he cauises to many problems for the taxpayers and people. Egan all the way - a lady a real lady
How could you mention Surhad? Assuming you mean Suhrada, it's because he's actually fighting for the taxpayers. being one in both the town and the city, paying taxes twice to the county, collecting money for the Metroplex that he knows darn well he'll never see a penny for and it's his JOB to collect money from his constituents to give to people for patronage jobs that he doesn't agree with. "Rebuilding downtown is going so well...closing the street on the busiest day of the week for the shops...isn't this why the date of the parade was moved so antics like this wouldn't take effect? I guess as long as it's the Metroplex, we can bend the rules.
Tedisco's not CAUSING problems for the taxpayers, he's trying to fix them. Whule I'm not exaclty happw with ALL of his stances, which I probably wouldn't be with anybody, he's probably going to be the one that I most agree with. I can't see Suhrada go ahead and buy another place to pay taxes (albeit at a much lower rate) so that he can go ahead and run in another Congressional District.
Joe Suhrada would make a great Congressman. Unfortunately he lives in Paul Tonko's District. Jimmy Tedisco will be our go to man in Washington. Forget about Tonko-he was in the Assembly for decades and did nothing for Amsterdam/Rotterdam, except attend festas and build a useless bridge to nowhere.
Bravo to Jimmy, who saw an opportunity to get out of horrible, corrupt, Krat run into the ground Schenectady County and TOOK IT. Nobody will say nuthin except we wish it were us. To live by the track and forget about this mismanaged terrible County. JT will be a great Congressman and forget about Sal and Tracey Egan. It's over for them. I have more hot political news about the Assembly seat but will wait until later to break it here.
tell us, we can't wait to hear it! Who is the next assemblyman or woman? I heard Savage is going for it!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

As for the race to succeed Kirsten Gillibrand in Congress, Ican tell you one thing, Republican candidate Jim Tedisco is pumped. I saw him at his announcement rally the other day at a shopping center in Clifton Park, and he looked like he was leading a fast break down a basketball court, which was an analogy that he used himself. This is an opportunity to play on the national stage that he had no reason to expect would ever happen, and then all of a sudden it did happen, and in the most golden way possible. A seat opened up in a solidly Republican district, and it opened up in the middle of aterm so there will be only four to six weeks to campaign for a special election, thus favoring a candidate whose name is already known, as his is. Moreover, the district stretches halfway up to Montreal, halfway down to New York City and most of the way to the Pennsylvania line, which will make it tough for a little-known candidate to get established. And Jim’s Democratic opponent is as little known as they come. He is 39-year-old Scott Murphy, who has lived in Glens Falls just three years and has never before run for public office. An arranger of venture capital. When you consider that Republicans outnumber Democrats 181,000 to 113,000 in the district, you’ve got to figure that Tedisco, who has been playing to the public with great success since he was a basketball star at Union College in the early 1970s, is an excellent bet. Ah, the wheel of fortune, how it turns. Just last year Tedisco could have run for Mike McNulty’s seat when McNulty unexpectedly retired, but he chose not to. That district was heavily Democratic, and a Republican would have had little chance. So he sat back and watched his rival, Paul Tonko of Amsterdam, ascend to the empyrean of Washington. Who would have thought this other seat would open up, that Kirsten Gillibrand, of all people, would be picked to succeed Hillary Clinton in the Senate? But it happened, and now Tedisco is on his way, and if he doesn’t make his mark in Congress very quickly, I will be most surprised. He has a wonderful ability to get himself noticed. Remember, the position of minority leader in the Assembly was one of the more obscure positions in state government until he filled it. I barely remember who held it before he came along. But look what he did with it. Look how he went toe to toe with Gov. Eliot Spitzer over driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and got national attention for it. Before that, look how he made the burning of cats a major state issue with his Buster Bill. (The burning of cats!) Earlier yet, look how he got Gov. Mario Cuomo out to a Thruway booth to hand out the first toll ticket with a picture of a missing child on it. He has a gift for identifying sexy issues and laying claim to them that other politicians can only dream about. At his rally in Clifton Park he was already trying out some national lines: “We have to stay on the offensive!” he said with great passion. “We need to be capturing or killing terrorists, not turning them loose!” From the burning of......................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....amp;EntityId=Ar01100

Good one Senders. Like she was running for Congress, Graham B? Something funny happened on the way to the US Capitol. Hope see does run so we can tell her what we think of her County "leadership". Do you really think she wants to take a paycut or have her taxes public information? If she's smart she will not run again for County Legislator. The Reps have candidates really to rumble.

If Jim Tedisco wins the special election to fill Kirsten Gillibrand's vacant congressional slot, there could be a traffic jam of contenders interested in running for his Assembly berth.
The line formed weeks ago after Tedisco announced his congressional aspirations. When it comes to name recognition, just last weekend one person jumped to the head of the pack. Jeff Blatnick, known far and wide as an Olympic gold medal wrestler, has told people he's interested in the GOP Assembly endorsement if Tedisco moves on to Washington. Blatnick, a motivational speaker and sports consultant, lives in Ballston Lake.
Other Republicans lobbying for support include Bob Farley and Jim Buhrmaster, both Schenectady County legislators; Peter Guidarelli, an ex-county legislator; Jay Rifenbary, a Saratoga Springs school board member; and Missy Shorey, a Saratoga business owner.
Also last weekend came word that Susan Savage, the Schenectady County Legislature chairwoman, is eyeballing the Democratic nomination. Thus far, she's that party's only known potential candidate.
Shuffling through a yellowing, brittle Sam Stratton file that I've kept for all these years reminded me of an unusual twist pertaining to that New York U.S. Senate seat and the Kennedy clan. Most everyone knows Caroline Kennedy came out of the starting gate a big-time favorite to replace Sen. Hillary Clinton. After apparent political horse trading in the stretch, Gov. David Paterson appointed Kirsten Gillibrand and Caroline wound up in the barn.
Not many know that in the '60s Congressman Sam Stratton made an all-out push for a Democratic U.S. Senate nomination. Stratton should have been the state Democrats' favorite son candidate. Instead, party big shots snubbed him in favor of Robert F. Kennedy, whom Stratton supporters labeled a "carpetbagger'' from Massachusetts.
During the nominating convention, Stratton was on his way to the podium to make a pitch to delegates. Gov. Averell Harriman, seated on the dais, was supporting Kennedy.
"Sam, sit down,'' Harriman hollered to Stratton. Without breaking stride, Stratton looked back over his shoulder and said, "(Expletive deleted) you, governor.''
Anyway, Kennedy would up with the party endorsement and Sam wound up in the barn.
Incidentally, also back in the '60s, Stratton put on a convention rush for a gubernatorial nomination. Party leaders bypassed the upstater in favor of Frank Hogan, then Queens DA. The bosses never did admire Stratton's maverick ways.
thank you Mrs Savage for thinking about helping us all out over here - we DO need someone just like you to be our person over there in Albany now that Mr Tonko is gone on to better and bigger things there. We appreciate and love what you do for the economy and the 10s of 1000s of the jobs that you have made personally with judy, Tony and Mr Ray Gillien
Sal has it right-{for once}Savage created 10 jobs-all lob jobs at the County Building!
Sorry Sal, you're being represented by George Amedore. If she wants it she can have it-everyone else is afraid of Gold medalist Jeff Blatnick. From my many sources this will go to Saratoga County Reps.
I will be shocked if Tedisco doesn't win. He is a true POLITICIAN. He knows how to compromise and play the political game. I honestly don't know how effective he will be, but I believe that he will win!

If Tedisco wins, I hope that Speaker Suzie throws her hat in the ring. In fact, I'd almost vote for her myself, if I were in the district. Just imagine...we'd at LEAST get a new Schenectady County Chair that doesn't give everyone the evil eye before they stand up to speak.
