SCHENECTADY — Three O.D. Heck employees were arrested today for allegedly smoking marijuana at the Schenectady Municipal Golf Course on their lunch break, according to the state inspector general's office.
Albert D. Carey, Jr., 57, Lloyd A. Schmidt, 55, and Michael J. Butkiewiez, 27, left the O.D. Heck Developmental Center on Balltown Road, parked on East Holm Road and walked through a patch of woods to the golf course, where investigators allegedly saw them passing a marijuana pipe.
The men, all Schenectady residents, were taken into custody when they tried to drive back to O.D. Heck. All three were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. Schmidt also was charged with driving under the influence.
