Let me just say this..............WTF................................who is in charge????? I bet they ALL took lessons from and rubbed elbows with Mr.Madoff
and friends................DONT THINK OTHERWISE.............their skirts are up and here we are looking up.......time to topple the top of the pyramid....
You should only get a raise when you have a job....not an elected public official.....there is no basis for it......TERM LIMITS=NO BUBBLES.......
as for the bailout that they are demanding the car execs to forgoe their comp and salaries--------

Voters should never fear change when voting.....we are American pioneers......no legislator is more stable than you or I........they are cogs in the
system just like you and I...................

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Quoted Text
Currently the average lawmaker makes $169,300 a year, with leadership making slightly more. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) makes $217,400, while the minority and majority leaders in the House and Senate make $188,100.

I copied that from the above referenced article.  What a joke, I can't think of a single one that stands out as an outstanding public servant.  They aren't worth $10k per year let alone $169k

Ya notice they all don't make the $250K. Isn't it anyone who makes over $250K, Obama will tax higher? Ya know...spreading the wealth?

I dont really care.   Looking at thier salery is pretty narrow minded- as most people only have a real concept of money if it is in thousands of dollars-  When you start adding too many zeros and it turns into bzillions the numbers becom incomprehensable -

Like the cost of one day or months  of the Iraq war  could probably pay for REAL  medical treatment for every Vet returning with PTSD

I make more than the President of Honduras- so what-

You are possibly worth more than the President of Honduras.  I based my thoughts on the value of our lawmakers which I believe to be zero ($0)

I agree Rene, and that's what the law makers should get paid for dropping the ball and ignoring the housing and financial problems to get as bad as they are.

Don't forget Nancy Pelosi {D-SF} also has her own taxpayer funded plane, No other Speaker has had this. She claims she needs it for "security". Like Stratton needs a Jeep to be Mayor? This Congress accomplishes nothing, fund raises endlessly, has a quarter of the popularity of President Bush and has the nerve to grab another raise. Tonko will fit right in.
