Let me ask this another way......what is America known for??? Your thoughts, ideas, definitions etc.......be honest......

Sure - Im all for " land of the free -home of the brave " but I fly to get to work on time.  ( 82,800 miles this year - thats actual flying miles not f flyer or purchased miles )-

I dont think most  here travel enough to give a really relevant answere to what the additional layers of security Homeland Security/TSA are using and will be using.  Sitting in front of your TV/computer and tethered to a 10 mile leash will  give you a very myopic perception of what it takes to diligently " eyeball"  travelers and people crossing our borders.  So -I say  scan away-

What is the percentage of the population that travels....regularly, frequently.....not just the yearly vacation.......

and I am not saying that I dont believe in bad people....but do we honestly think we can catch them and be safer????

I say go ahead and scan,,,but something in our soul is removed/put to sleep when 'other' things/people take over our instincts, rationality etc.......

The originial article  title " New ID Scanners at Borders Raise Privacy Alarm "--The devices, called Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) machines, allow officials to read remotely any passports, pass cards, and driver's licenses that contain special chips with personal information----

I dont hear anyone complaining about  having your EZ PASS personal info scanned as you pass though the toll booth-

Not to mention that each EZPAss Tag has a GOS locator chip in it.  So, if you know a Tag's RFID frequency, it can be tracked wherever it goes.
