State workers unions’ ads particularly irksome

New York state’s constant and ludicrous increase in taxes and fees is totally out of control, resulting in a continual exodus of residents and businesses out of the state. Yet the unions representing the hundreds of thousands state workers continue to lobby for increased government.
Nearly every dollar that goes into the pockets of CSEA, other public unions and their members comes out of the pockets of state taxpayers. It is time for these public unions to stop wasting hundreds of thousand (perhaps millions) of dollars in self-preserving advertising and lobbying for increased government funding — and start working with the governor to reduce state expenditures and taxes.

And people wonder why I take issue with unions. Tell me, what is the incentive to do a 'better' job? THERE IS NONE!! Unions had their place.....way back when. But in today's world, these union employees have it made. They make a decent wage, get great benefits, work in a safe environment, get coffee breaks, lunches and work decent hours. And for that the unions are definitely responsible for that. But what the hell else do they need?

And EVERY union has it's slugs. But they are protected by the 'union contract'. It is very difficult to fire a union slug!  And trust me, I have many many friends and relatives that are union employees. And they are from various unions. I could tell you story after story on how they rape the taxpayer and employer.

Should all unions be desolved? Of course not. But there needs to be come changes. IMHO

Get coffee breaks and lunches.... wow  lets fire those workers.......i think you are worst then sal

The union workers in this state run circles around those in the private sector.
We make less money and put up with the whining from the public.

were not paid enough to listen to there bit@hin all day long.  Sometimes I want to give them
a quater and tell them to call someone who cares.

You people in private jobs sit in your offices and watch your stock prices.  WE work for our living

Most union people are two nice to say this publicly.  But, since you don't no me, I can speak the truth

I hope you get exactly what you want because it's going to bankrupt this country and when you don't have a job don't complain. Remember Socialism can't work because the government runs out of other peoples money in the end.

You're sadly mistaken Left Turn I was in the union for 33 years and a union steward for 20 years and the company always has a right to lay-off people as a last resort, a company/city can declare bankruptcy and then all contracts and union agreements aren't worth the paper that they're written on.
