Welllll, in defense (what am I? nuts? ) of Judy. Apparently she's new so she doesn't know that the peoples' gazette has used this website and mine as fodder for stories. They have and so has the Times Useless. But I don't see the Times Useless getting all bent out of shape over it.
Oh well, have a nice weekend.

I'm going to post this thread on my board if that's okay. Hey admin, are you going to threaten me with copyright infringement? (rofl)

Copyright infringement? Hardly! I think we see it as a "sense of community" and "bringing a community together".

Congrats to you nickle! Sal has placed you in his kool aid catagory!

Perhaps the people's gazette just doesn't like it when 'we the people' expose their bias stories. For some of us that attend city/county/town meetings KNOW first hand what REALLY transpired. Then the next morning we read an article by the gazette that is so biased, we spit our coffee out.

Pat Z knows what she is talking about. Many times the People's G has used us for lead generation. Now editorials are copying comments verbatim. Some people break real news and others parrot Democratic talking points. The TU welcomes websites for obvious reasons.

I will not cut off my nose to spite my face and cancel my subscription.  I'm not happy but the TU does not do hardly any stories in or about D'burg.  Justin does a great job and is truly interested.  He will call to see if anything is going on and dig around for a story.

If you read what she said closely, it is that you can post the articles here -- with permission -- but not in their entirety -

so why b**ch when the solution is there -- get permission and post some of the story with a link to the web site. The web site is free, so you don;t have to worry about supporting the elite media with your hard-earned lira and you can continue to spend freely in this economy made wonderful by ,,, dare I say ,,, GWB. lol

let me add this point -- I suppose everyone was ok with copyright when the Business Review demanded blanchfield stop using its material for this anti-amedore commercial.... sure, then it was an important principle because then you understood it better. of course, you understood it through your own prism of facts, but, hey, you understood it.

The article states that Amedore videotaped it, therefore the Business Review does not have copyright claim to it.
And if George put it on YouTube, he put it into the public domain himself and Markie had every right to use it in any way he chose.
It's called spoofing.

So, go ahead and continue with it Little Weasel. You will probably only hurt your own electability.

knukledragging evolver,

First, I must say that I don't understand your hostility re: this topic.  If people who post here believe that the Daily Gazette is biased in its reporting and choose not to subscribe to or read the rag, it shouldn't be offensive to you.  You should be more concerned about your being associated w/ Sal.

It wasn't the fact that Mark was using the information but the way it was edited. Blanchfield changed the real message by editing the message in such a way as to imply something that was said as truth into a half truth that changed the real message. Besides as Justin said when you go to the link provided by the Gazette to read the article only part of it is on line so you can't read the whole article.

Now THAT is a copyright issue!!!!!

Blanchfield actually twisted, altered, deleted and added to Amedore's original statement.

I doubt a one paragraph blurb properly describes the intent of copyright laws. here is one example of the principle -- you write a book [and it is smashingly good - aka harry potter] and then someone posts the whole book on the web -- well they cite you are the author, but does it really matter? why would anyone buy it now, since it;s freely available. the same applies to music, etc. it is protecting your intellectual property.

copyright vs. the internet is a major legal issue that has yet to be resolved.
Unlike your comparison......No one is copying the ENTIRE newspaper and posting it on the internet for FREE!  Just the opposite. These select articles are for DISCUSSION purposes ONLY. And let me remind everyone that the gazette or any other source gets the credit. (top billing if you will) AND free advertisement with a direct link to their site.

Like cicero stated, this is absolutely no different than sitting in a diner, dunkin donuts or at work, where there is ONE newspaper where hundreds of people sit around and discuss the articles in it. I'm sure there are substantially less people that view this site as compared to the above mentioned.

I suggest the gazette just let this issue die it's own death.

every story in the gazette is copyrighted --- that is how it works... u don't have to put the entire paper up.

libery and justice --- your evolution of my name was not even funny, let alone clever. but keep trying,. thank you. it probably helps exercise your brain.
