But, in the end, Joe the Plumber did nothing but hurt McCain ... and they kept defending him. Yall know I'm a die hard conservative/republican, but this was a bonehead move, IMHO.
Well, aside from a bit of pride at the zinger, I agree with you on some aspects, and disagree on others.
In the end, "Joe the PLumber" did more damage than good, but can that really be laid at the feet of the McCain campaign? The media built this guy up then destroyed him. The campaign did the right hting in trying to get some momentum out of this, with all the "free coverage," but just like the media, they didn't exactly have the time to vet him. The problem I would agree is that they held on too long to him. If they could have found a "legitimate Joe," that would have resonated much more.
Joe the Plumber was a 'Media Grenade' and everyone got in close to look at it....then-----BANG!!!! gotcha......yup, the media was playing the Joker....
I wonder when the Oscar will be presented.....

I went to "Joes" website and it seems shallow and silly. Why would I join him? He gives no reason other than we all hate corrupt politicians. What is he going to do about it.....probably the same as most people on most blogs around the country, gripe about it online and go to work. Give him his 15 minutes and he will be gone.
Ya notice how the media was all over 'joe'. They made him an overnight sensation. They turned his life inside out for the entire world to see. He was on every major cable network. And all because he asked a simple question to Obama. Where's themedia now?
Even though I think his website endevor will be unsucessful, I can understand how politics and the media has left a bad tastein his mouth.
