Notice to All Employees

As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:

1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally among all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are underachieving a “fair shake.”

2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves.  This will help those who are “too busy for overtime” to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.

3. All top management will now be referred to as “the government.” We will not participate in this “pooling” experience because the law doesn't apply to us.

4. The “government” will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard “for the good of all.”

5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's “good to spread the wealth.” Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more “patriotic.”

6. The last few peo ple who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage.  If you appeal directly to our Democrat congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts - shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?

If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Ultimately it is very frightening.

Well, I've thought about it.  I've asked a few questions of myself, and answered them.  Here's some of them:

Is my country better off or worse off than it was eight years ago?  Well, the country had a record cash surplus, the economy was booming, we were paring down the national debt, unemployment was hovering around 1.5%, the biggest WMD threat (N. Korea) had been negotiated into shutting down it's nuclear program, and people pretty much approved of the guy in charge - about 52% or so when he left office.  Now we have the highest national debt in history, unemployment has risen to around 6%, the economy is in ruins, North Korea has reactivated it's nuke program, and the Chief Executive approval rating is as low as 7% depending on how you measure it.  The nation seems a tad worse off.

Okay, so how's the GOP done since the 1994 (Contract With America?) through 2008 so far?  Well, Newt and Trent got booted, but they did impeach a president for lying about extra-marital oral-sex; something not one of those neo-cons would ever do.  Of course, as soon as the impeachment was in, the same gang raced over to the Senate and said, "Just kidding!" and there was never a trial.  The current administration was told by the previous one that 'terrorism' was the biggest issue on the radar, and the current administration ignored that advice, so 9/11 happened.  Then our president promised to hunt down and punish those responsible, namely, Osama Bin Laden.  He's still hunting.  It's sort of like when he promised to prosecute to the fullest whoever outed Valarie Plame - no one's done a bit of jail time so far for that one.  Then there's the 'Faith Based Initiatives' promise, which works if your faith is Christian, non-Roman Catholic.  If you get those funds you can be very selective (bigoted?) in who you hire.  As yet none of that money has gone to the RC Church, or any branch of Judaism, and certainly not anyone connected with Islam, or any of those other middle eastern and far eastern faiths.  Then there's the victories in Afghanistan and Iraq, which were celebrated broadly, but it seems our soldiers are still dying in both of those places.  I have no idea why we started a second war before we finished the first, but it does fly in the face of all of history, which highlights that the worst thing you can do is open a second front (see Nazi Germany).

Looking at the 'War On Terrorism,' I see a war with no set measure for when it's won.  If there's no finish line, you can't ever win the race - simple as that, so there's a failing grade.  I look at Haliburton being given the contract to rebuild Iraq and want to be suspicious, but I can't be because the document is still classified.  I look at the promise that, thanks to the returns on oil, the Iraq war would only cost us $2,000,000,000 tops, and now hear that it's probably going to cost us $3,000,000,000,000.  I read where this administration had defeated the Taliban in November of 2001, and read today that they are stronger than ever and have established a 'shadow government' across most of the southern part of that country, that drug trade out of there has reach unprecedented levels, and that our 'installed' government there has no authority to speak of outside of Kabul.  I look at Pakistan, an Islamic nation with nukes, and see that the current administration threw its weight behind General Pervez Musharraf.  We gave him about $10 billion - to a military dictatorship.  Most of that money disappeared, and only 19% of the people in Pakistan think we're an 'okay' ally.  I look at Iraq where the President lied to congress, and to the people to prosecute a war he'd been seeking since January of 2001 - the month he took office.  4,000 dead Americans so far, the Haliburton reconstruction hasn't reconstructed anything (but they've been getting paid), and the Iraqi's are starting to hate us more than Saddam.  I look at Iran, which the current administration included in the 'Axis Of Evil,' even though they were among the first to offer assistance after 9/11.  Every single move, twist, and provocation this admin's thrown at Iran has only served to enhance its standing in the middle east, raising it to  a level of respect it never had since the Shah, and we have not abated its nuke program one flyspeck.  I look at Gaza and Hamas, where we failed.  I look at the Somallian civil war, where we failed.  I look at Georgia (the country) where we failed.  I look at our global respect, where we have failed miserably.

I look at the last four weeks where our economy has all but collapsed and led to a global melt-down and see whose watch this happened on.  I look at all of these, ask myself if the GOP and this administration has done a good job, and if I want another GOP White House.  I ask if I want a vice president who stated that part of that job was, 'Running the Senate,' on CNN two days ago.  I ask this because of the secrecy surrounding the potential president's current health review (go try to find that anywhere). Do I want this person as my president?  Yeah, I also look at the excoriation of Jack Edwards over $400 haircuts (which he repaid) vs. $150,000 no-apologies wardrobe and makeup bill for the current potential veep with wonder.

Finally, I look at the greatest upward migration of wealth over the last eight years that this nation has ever seen, and then I ask, "In view of all of the above, how should I vote?"  I've re-thought my vote - trust that.  Then I read bumblethru's offering and see no change from status quo mentioned in it.  Personally, that lacks appeal, but that's just me.

I dont believe there was ever surplus that would just fly in the face of the boomers portfolios on the backs of the 'credit creatures'(aka-next generation).....

terrorism---ruby ridge, mcveigh etc....it just now has a nice packaged name for ALL parties to use

as for war---you can take the man out of the war but you cant take the war out of the man......food,power,money,greed etc exists in ALL men/women

the economy----people still need to trade,,,bathtub gin for spaghetti, peanuts for bread etc......sorry no Armani suits for Christmas this year

Can I say who I am voting for??? nope.....I will be reading ALL THE LINES.......

Actually, the original post was emailed to me. Personally, neither candidate gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling. Boththe dems and reps  don't thrill me. One concern of mine is having any party, in this case the dems, to be in total control. I would definately prefer the check and balance system. Some folks say that if it is all one party, things might get done.

Time will tell!

Nothing gets done when one party rules.....but there is so much dog and pony they cant even tell who they are.

I know that the voting is all over at this point, but think about this. How were things back in 2000?  We elected Bush.
Then, besides the attack on America on 9/11, we saw the economy boom through the first half of the decade.
Then, came the 6 in '06 and the Democrats took control of Congress.
Then, instead of sending tax cuts back to people, we decide to start sending out "stimulus packages," whether people paid taxes or not, we decided to give mortgages to people, no matter if they could afford them or not.
Then, our banks have no money because they gave it all away, so we print more money to send to the people hoping they'll put it in the banks  They go out and spend it on things from our "most favored nation," and then since the people didn't put the money in the bank, the government decides to print MORE money (over 70 billion this time) and we wonder why none of the money that we have is worth anything...and we vote in the people who sent us the "free" money.
The 51% have now voted themselves raises.  It's over.
