Lincoln never would have gotten us into all this trouble

Among some of the wise advice given this country by Abraham Lincoln were eight caveats: You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
This country would not be in the current fiscal mess if politicians had followed these caveats. To further compound [matters], Sen. Charles Schumer is suggesting that government bail out those with debts associated with education. It is this type of violation of the above caveats that allowed marginal loans that could not be repaid. It was a violation that encouraged spending beyond one’s means, thus creating enormous personal credit card debt, which isw difficult to pay off.
In the upcoming election, vote for those who understand and will follow Lincoln’s caveats, rather than those who are on record as being opposed to them and who will try to buy your vote with public (your) money.
A president cannot serve more than two terms or eight years. It is time for congressional term limits. Two terms for senators and six for representatives. It is also time for ending the excessive benefits given to members of Congress when they leave that body.

Ain't that a fact......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS

I agree, but it's also Mr. Lincoln who made sure that if a state were to want to secede from the union, that it would be almost impossible from that time on...hence the fact that California and San Francisco still haven't decided to up and leave the union yet.
