Yanno, there's few things in life that get me THIS upset.

I had to stop for fuel tonight - driving an 8cyl truck, it's done at least weekly - sometimes 2x/week.

Yesterday, Mobil on Altamont Ave was 3.579 ... today, it's 3.799 - that's a $.22cent increase in ONE day.  On SPECULATION.  There's no evidence that their rigs were even damaged in the gulf - the damn thing just came on shore less than 24 hours ago.

(As of 9:30pm) Everyone else in R'dam and the city is $3.57-$3.62 ... Mobil is the ONLY one that raised their prices so fast - without merit.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Actually, I think that Cumberland Farms (Gulf) is up to somewhere around $3.71.  Makes more sense, since this is where they get their gas from.  I was lucky enough to fill up at the Stewarts on hamburg St. on Friday at $3.57 before it skyrocketed.  Between Friday night and Saturday morning, the Getty at 5 Corners jumped from $3.57 to $3.69.

This is simply price gouging - nothing more, nothing less.  They're inflating the price based on SPECULATION - not actual costs.

That's illegal.

The federal government was 'suppose' to be looking into this. They said they wouldn't allow price gouging. Too late!

Want to see what this is really doing to gas prices across the country?  Even though a barrel of oil is almost under $90 a barrel at the close of business today, look at the map at this link, specifically narrowing in on the midwest / anything east of the Mississippi River.
