I'd just like to say thank you to all those from this forum who chose to put it on the line for the rest of us in today's Primary Election. Win or not, you worked to make a difference in this community. While we all sit here and play "armchair quarterback" - you actually went out and did something instead of sitting around talking about it.

Congratulations to the winners of the Primaries - I hope you'll appreciate that others are working to advance their views and opinions - and will work together for the betterment of the community.

Congratulations to those who didn't succeed - work with those that did and your efforts won't be forgotten.

The results of the Primary election from September 9, 2008 can be found here: http://www.schenectadycounty.com/electionresults/RESULTS.HTM

No, Salvatore, this is just acting as someone who has respect for others.  Someone who actually wants to see change brought, in whatever way.  I don't know MT's views on everything, and neither do you.  For all YOU know, he could have been a supporter of Jim Buhrmaster, or he could have been a supporter of Darius Shahinfar. (just pulling names out of a hat.)  This comments says exactly zero, zip, nada, regarding MT's choice of candidates, so for once, can't you just take something as its said?  Or does EVERYTHING need to have some sort of spin on it?  Come on, already.

I've said it before, I didn't have a pony in this race - I know a total of 14 of the candidates that were running - some I went to high school with, some I know in professional situations at this point in my life. Some succeeded in their run for office, some did not - my post was simply a thank you to everyone who ran, and for everyone who's working for the betterment of the residents in our town/city/county.

I don't have the desire to run for office - some do, some don't. I'm applauding the ones who stepped forward and DID something positive, whatever the result.  Did you step up and do your part?

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
