Unfortunately, due to difficult business conditions ...
I cancelled my subscription years ago and have repeatedly declined promotional offers to renew my subscription. When I have the luxury of free time to read the paper (occasionally on Sundays), I purchase the Albany Times Union. I believe that the circulation of the Daily Gazette has decreased significantly over the years and suspect that it will continue to do so until the staff begin to focus on reporting the news in an unbiased manner rather than publishing promotional pieces for the Metroplex and for those in elected office who comprise the majority party. The Gazette also seems to have lost much of its advertising (display and classified). You don't see as much as you did years ago. I can say that two businesses that are owned by family members have significantly reduced or discontinued adverstising in the Gazette due to cost and low readership. |
