this here shows illegalitys and it would be illegal for buchanan to ask for and get any tax break at all since he is in the political world. if Macekca did this here they both need to go to prison with the F B I roundup even though I like Macekca, and he is a good supporter of the demos and Bob G
Yes it probably would be illegal IF this is a FACT! And know one has provided the documents to prove otherwise. All of these tax records are public...so sal you can start FOILING for us, ok?

"Word on the street" isn't a FACT! And I can't believe that Rotterdam's boys in blue would take a tax reduction in exchange for a contract approval. If that is in fact true.

Not sure I understand that one-..........   The boys in black took a tax reduction in exchange for a contract????  So, somehow they inappropriately paid less tax... ( I am assuming you are saying they got assessments reduced) and for that they got contract approval????  PBA contract?????  Am I missing something?

PS  I like the name of this thread>>>>  GAR'S REVAL HAS ERRORS.   If it wasn't done so poorly and cost us so much, that would be laughable.

That is a huge understatement.  In my estimation- GAR's work has more errors than it has accurate assessments.  I will guarantee that if a report ever comes to light- it will show hundreds if not thousands of mistakes..........

Word on the street is Tommy Boy Buchannon and Johnny Boy Mertz both pressured Macejaka
into assessment reductions on property they owned.  Tommy got his reduced Mertz didn't
after Gerry Parisi put the kabosh on it.  The record and the truth will be forthcoming irrelevent
the foil issue.  The water is soooo frickin muddy that Steve T doesnt know what the hell is
comin down the Pike.  Check out the reductions given by Craig Surprise Surprise Surprise to
the RPD for contract approval
.....  FBI is sniffing

Reassessment case still irks town

First published in print: Sunday, March 22, 2009

Nearly four years after a real estate appraisal and consulting firm started townwide property reassessments, the two sides seem headed for a legal showdown.

Municipal attorney Gerard Parisi said Friday that Rotterdam town officials and GAR Associates Inc. of suburban Buffalo recently met to discuss the matter and that attorneys were reviewing an independent audit that uncovered substantial errors.

He said council members hope to settle the matter amicably but "we've got to consider all our legal options."

"We want them to live up to the contract," Parisi added, noting the independent company the town hired to audit the revaluation found a substantial number of errors. Some properties were left off the tax rolls all together, Parisi said.

But GAR Vice President Cindy Baire argued the firm has fulfilled its contractual obligations to Rotterdam and stands behind its work, which ended in July 2007. The contract, though, had a provision that called for GAR to be available until July 30, 2008 in case of problems.

Baire said the town brought on a new assessor after the revaluation, which might be part of the problem, since each assessor "has their own way of doing and looking at things." The firm was transparent throughout the reassessment, which she emphasized ultimately was certified by the state Office of Real Property Services.

"If they saw potential errors, red flags would have gone up," she said, adding that more recently they have cooperated fully with the new assessor.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
