Homosexual Day of Silence - Is Your Child's School on the list?

Dear ,

Because of the action of concerned parents, hundreds of schools have removed their school as a listed
participant in the pro-homosexual "Day of Silence." You can join the fight for your children too!

On, Friday, April 25, several thousand schools across the nation will be observing "Day of Silence (DOS)."
DOS is a nationwide push to promote the homosexual lifestyle in public schools.

When AFA alerted parents of this public school classroom disruption by homosexual student activists,
many took action immediately! If you haven't gotten involved, it's critical that you do so today!

A simple phone call or letter to school administrators, telling them your child will not attend school the day
it observes DOS, may be enough to cause some participating schools to change their plans. Sample letter here.

Please listen to a 60-second radio ad warning parents about Day of Silence, then forward this email to
your local Christian or conservative radio station.
Ask them to broadcast it as a Public Service Announcement (PSA)!

In the past week alone, over 200 schools have announced they are dropping plans to participate.
Please, get involved for the sake or your children, and all children, today!

Take Action!

What should parents do? Check with your local school principal to see if your child's school will be
participating in DOS. If the school is participating, notify other parents about DOS and ask them to
join in keeping their children out of school on that day.
Here is a partial list of schools which are expected to participate in
DOS(http://outbound.afa.net/track?.....al.php?articlenum=70):
If your school is listed, call your local school and ascertain whether they officially or
passively allow students to observe "Day of Silence." If your school is listed, please double-check
with your local school to see if the school is actually sponsoring DOS. Sometimes the "participation"
turns out to be a handful of kids who are saying they have a homosexual club and are observing
this protest day, but without school endorsement. We sincerely hope your school, if listed, is not
actually an official sponsor. If it is not, we will take them off the list, if a school official asks us to
do so. Please e-mail your correction to webmaster@missionamerica.com.

Some tips:

Be sure of the date that DOS is planned for your school. (The national date is April 25, but some
schools observe DOS on a different date.)  Inform the school of your intention to keep your child
home on that date and explain why. Click here for a sample letter. (http://outbound.afa.net/track?.....et/pdfs/silence1.pdf)
Explain to your children why you're taking a stand: Homosexual behavior is not an innate identity;
it is a sinful, unnatural and destructive behavior. No school should advance a physically, emotionally,
and spiritually destructive sexual lifestyle to students.
Schools do not have to tolerate students remaining silent in class. Schools can adopt policies that
require parental consent for students to attend any club, including those premised on sexual orientation
or gender identity. Click here for more information from Attorney Mat Staver with Liberty Counsel who
provides free information to parents, students, and schools regarding their rights associated with
noncompliance on the Day of Silence.

Thank you for caring enough to get involved. If you feel our efforts are worthy of support, would
you consider making a small tax-deductible contribution? Click here to make a donation.

Sincerely,

First no one can talk about it,,,,then everyone is out of the closet....now no one can talk about it again just to recognize it......I dont get all this recognition stuff.....nurses week, secretaries week, breast cancer month, a ribbon here a ribbon there, NFL team stuff, nascar numbers,,,,,etc etc........this is worse than a dripping faucet......

If people keep their children at home on that day the lose of state aid may get the schools attention and then maybe the school administrators will get back to teaching the 3 r's instead of every other cause that comes along.

First, a correction, Mohonasen is on the list.  I sent an e-mail to them and they have corrected the spelling of the school on the list.

My wife contact Schalmont and they said that they are not doing anything extra, however, they will not stop any student who is participating in this event.  That's as good as supporting it as far as I'm concerned.

I also sent an e-mail to the Times Union, the Daily Gazette, and the Rotterdam Journal, asking them to state that this is going to happen and that if parents disagreed with it, they would have the option of keeping their children home.  I don't have a copy of the e-mail right now, however, I will see about posting it here and on my blog when I get back to getting a copy.

Kevin, aren't the parents notified through the mail or sending the info home with the kids about this issue?

No, this is an underground thing.  The school is supporting it by allowing it to happen, but as long as they don't advertise it, they can plead ignorance.  Well, I'm not going to let them.  In fact, Schalmont has a board meeting next Monday night that I will be there for.

Quoted Text
During DOS, children and teachers are encouraged to disrupt the school day by refusing to speak, in a show of support to self-described "gay," "lesbian," "bisexual" and "transgender" students. Kids are additionally taught that Biblical truth, which holds that human sexuality is a gift from God shared between husband and wife within the bonds of marriage, is "homophobic," "hateful" and "discriminatory."
This is part of the link Mobil posted. Nice, huh? None of this should be taught in school. This is a social, moral, value issue...not educational. This is not what why I pay school taxes.

The problem Bumble is that we ALLOWED schools to teach sex education - in what, 3rd grade now - and ALLOWED condoms to be distributed freely ... this is just the next step in the process.

We need to get back to family values. Some things should be TAUGHT AT HOME, not by a teacher who has no knowledge of the family structure or religious ideals of the family. Kindergardeners and elementry school  kids can't POSSIBLY know at that age (5-10) that they're homosexual or lesbian - or "straight" for that matter. Puberty is confusing enough for boys - don't make it more complicated than it has to be.

Remember that old saying, "give them an inch, they'll take a mile"?  It doesn't apply just to children - but to school boards too it seems.

I'd say the real problem is that kids aren't being thought that at home in the first place because:
1) The parents were never thought in the first place and you can't teach something you don't know anything about.
2) They are to affraid to bring up the subject. It is a scarry subject to begin with.

I agree, this is a subject to be taught by the parents, but we have to start somewhere.

And teaching kids about homosexuality is important. Kids have to be aware of it other wise they will have prejudice against it when they grow up.

I don't believe that horseshit for a minute ... kids at 5-10 years old don't understand "homo" or "hetero".  Hell, half the people at age 21, 31 and 40 don't fully understand the terms, and don't even think about mixing "bi" into the equation, nobody understands that at this age.

And it's amazing that the world was populated at all....and if ya think  a little reproductive knowledge is good then viagra commercials and the rest of the drug company commercials are okay too.....cause, I gotta tell ya,,,,folks eat that stuff up and actually show up at their doctors office demanding them and truly believing the 'snake oil salesman'.... and we are better for that little tidbit of knowledge???? A little knowledge can be damaging and alot of knowledge can be blinding.......

Usually fear of the unknown keeps us at bay,,,,but,,,at the same time fear of the unknown digs us a grave too......either way folks whether 10-20-30-40years old etc.....all come with the same kind of wiring.......it's what we plug ourselves into that makes the difference....that would be called discernment---and the schools certainly dont teach that......

filmstrip: slide 1 and 2 you have a penis: you have a girl private(typical anatomical pictures)---slide 3 this is what will happen when you put the two together(picture of DSS and the local porn shop full of my baby's daddys waiting for baby's mommys to come out of DSS)......not a flicker of light will shine through until that child (baby/fetus-or what ever is PC) leaves your home or gets shot on the street.........
