Does anyone know the rule or law for non-profit organizations giving to political candidates or political parties? I don't. So last week while I was home with the flu, I decided to research and see what I could find. There was some information on the internet, but not enough.

So I thought I would start with the League of Women Voters. They were nice enough and Stephanie, the woman I spoke with, directed me to the Schenectady Board of Elections. She said that if they could not help me, to call her back and she would check further.

I did call the Schenectady Board of Elections and talked with Mr.Art Brassard last Friday. He assured me that he would look into it for me and email the information. Well, today is Wednesday and I haven't heard from Mr. Brassard so I left a voice mail with Mr. Brassard today and asked if he was able to gather that information for me and to please email or call me. I also re-called Stephanie at the League of Women's Voters yesterday, Tuesday, and left a message for her to call me back. (she was out to lunch) As of this date and time, I have not heard back from either.

I guess I will just have to dig a little higher and deeper.

Churches lose their tax exempt status if they contribute to any political party or campaign. I believe that also goes for all non-profits.
